Why is it called the pound shop! Nothing is £1 anymore, not even things that are £1 in other competitor stores! This store has very friendly staff and is well stocked
It's a Poundland but many things are over a pound now. Sign of the times! Good shop, clothing, freezer and chilled food sections, just be careful of pack sizes and price compare. Helpful staff and although frequent queues at the tills the rapidly get more staff on to speed you through. Jan 2023 update still good!

Not what used to be..nothing much for a pound...impossible these days....sweets overpriced and tiny packets....bad quality...just go tesco..
Busy and as with lots of shops at the moment shelves were low on stock and not as many options as there were in the past
The first aisle is the best with shower gel, soaps, toothpaste, hair gel and deodorants etc all at bargain prices with the best brands. I always buy more things than I intend to and save a few quid compared to other shops. I recommend buying all the bathroom products needed. Excellent shop.
I find so many useful things here and as a crafter, it is amazing to have this local shop with such a great selection. I also pick up amazing books occasionally, at a tiny fraction of the original price. The staff are friendly and helpful, I visited recently and the shop assistant saw that my dog buggy wheel had come off and without hesitation, fixed it for me: I'd taken it that day to pick up compost in-store. Great shop. Nice people.
Was given a fake note for change and they refused to exchange it. Asked to speak to a manager/supervisor and was repeatedly told they weren’t in but magically appeared after we refused to leave.
Go to place if you need something cheap and cheerful
