I have visited this place several times and find all the staff to be knowledgeable about their stock and friendly. They have a large selection of fabric for all uses not just the dress making ones you can see through the window, they also have a large selection of upholstery fabric. This place is a must if you are looking for quality fabric at reasonable prices.
The friendliness and service we received was second to none. It was half term and my friend and I had to bring our kids with us and the shop owner was so kind. The selection, quality and price were excellent. Can't recommend enough and she was happy to direct us to other local fabric businesses too.
The Cloth Quarter has a huge range of fabrics in all colours, patterns and textures. It's a delight to see as the displays are so colourful and visually exciting, it's hard to resist walking in just to look round! The lady in charge today is very smiley and knowledgeable. I've known this shop for around 30 years so have to commend it's relatively recent re-invemtion of style!
First time visiting but definitely not my last. Material not £1 yard but never the less so much choice. Ladies in shop friendly and helpful. Ignore the outside and take a walk round this little Aladdin's cave of good material at cheap prices.

It's a strange shop, but brilliant to go exploring in, and, wow, has some amazing fabrics at very reasonable prices. This is always my first port of call, and usually my last because they have what I'm looking for.
As a dressmaker and theatre costume maker, I always come here first and usually get what I need at a very reasonable price. Roger and Richard are always helpful and efficient, even when busy. For a smallish shop, they have a good supply of stock and have a brilliant choice of soft furnishing fabrics to buy or order. Good shopping experience all round.
Lovely fabrics lots of little rooms filled up to the top with evry type of fabric you need lovely ladies work there especially Val who has excellent info on all aspects of sewing the other assistant don't know her name is excellent always interested in your projects don't pass this shop if you sew
On my first visit to this shop I was intrigued by the variety of fabric on offer here! Lots of Rose and Hubble and other fabrics at great prices. I will be visiting again. If I had not have had this place recommend to me by a friend then the poor exterior of the shop would have definitely but me off looking which is a huge shame. X
Lovely little shop. Lots of choice and staff are very friendly. Even though the name is a little misleading not many fabrics are £1 a yard, the quality and variety is excellent. Found exactly what we needed. Will definitely be going here again.
