Great place to visit but quite expensive to go inside the ships, you can get a free ticket at the ticket office to walk around the grounds and some exhibitions.nnIn the grounds you can see some of the modern ships from a distance and the older ships up close. There are picnic tables but there are also places to buy food and drink.
I only had a limited time to look. Around the Portsmouth historic dock yards. I tried to make the most of it but hitting g the main sites. The staff and the in period actors we helpful and already to explain any questions that you had about the ships and dockyards.nI would recommend any one to come and explore.
Very beautiful place that you just must visit when in Portsmouth. There views from the docks are incredible and if you get a chance make sure to get on top of the spinnaker tower as the views from there are just amazing. A lot of shops and cafes around as well to have a coffee/ food and enjoy the amazing views. There are boat tours running which are 50 minutes long and only £12 for an adult.
Spent a full day here and could have done a second day and still not seen everything. Ultimate explorer ticket is prob best value.nThe walk through HMS victory is worth the price of the ticket alone. Don't miss the Marie Rose either.
You will have a great day here. So much to do. I bought the ultimate ticket. The only problem is that the place is that big you'll probably need a few days to get around it all. Just make sure you plan it well.nnI'm going to have to go back again to make the most of the tickets. It lasts all year. Everything I saw was 1st class . All the staff were very friendly and so helpful. You can even get chauffeured around docks on a golf buggy. Just ask the driver if you see any pulled over and tell them where you want to go and they won't hesitate.nnYou might get lucky like me and see the aircraft carrier in the dock.
