Just had a lovely meal here as a family. Not just any old pub food, it was very tasty and well presented. The pub itself is very clean and traditional, staff are very friendly and helpful
Went for Sunday roast, we had the light bites which were filling, not cheap, but not expensive. The service was a bit ropey but that was due to the waitress being new. Food was quality, would go again. No parking though

I went to the Portland for a wake after a friend's funeral. I found the team at the Portland to be very helpful and respectful of the occasion. The food was good and very plentiful. Well done to the Portland.
The environment is really cosy,warm,comfortable.Music is pleasant! Besides,salmon salad is heavy and delicious,vegetable soup and wine is palatable too. Nice restaurant,best service and food!
It's our local, we don't go in as much as we would like, but the food is always great and the staff are very friendly and helpful, would highly recommend.

We are on our holiday and this pub was just up the road from where we were staying so we thought we'd give it a go, the food was really good, the homemade steak and ale pie was very tasty, also the homemade lasagne was so so good, we came twice in one week to eat here. You won't leave disappointed, good atmosphere, friendly staff and nice place to have a bit of food and drink
We were recommended by two people to try Portland Inn, we looked forward with anticipation to a good meal. One of our party had the pie which was excellent, the other three had a varid bits off the menu, all ok except the cajun chicken. The owner was very fair and we were not charged for that meal, it was a nice local pub.
