Simply awful. The cook couldn’t care less, no effort, no pride. Dont be fooled by the Big green egg bbq it’s a prop. This place is peddling the cheapest food at tourist prices. 1 x Supermarket white bread roll, un-toasted 1 x Mass produced factory meat burger 1 x lettuce leaf unwashed 1 x tomato unwashed 1 x cheese slice unmelted £11.95 - fair price for quality. Zero quality here. No sauce. No love. No care. The beans and sausage were just awful we had to give them to a hungry dog and even he wasn’t very grateful for them. Snide cheap condiments in sachets. The location is class but this cafe sucks. Should be 1 star but it’s an independent business and beer tasted ok so gets an extra star for the location. This gorgeous location and the local community deserves a business that cares about the food it sells. Go for a drink and make sure you eat before you get there.
I love this place, and have eaten in it every time I'm in St. Ives - always exceptional food. Last night was no exception - I had 3 courses - all were lovely. The pick of the bunch for me was the scallops with almond masala starter - the best thing I've eaten in a long time. Thoroughly recommended.
I've been a patron of Porthminster beach and it's associated businesses for over two decades. Today 29.06.22 I've used the 'bar & barbeque' and have a bitter sweet review. Located at the back of beautiful Porthminster beach, the location is faultless. The barbecued local mackarel and cocktails were very nice. Unfortunately the barbecue chef pictured is one of the rudest people I've spoken to in a long time. Thankfully, my life is in a good place and I don't feel the need to vent my anger. A younger version of me would've reacted very differently.
Excellent food, Monkfish was out of this world. Drinks super, lovely setting. All round great day!
Good service that provides drinks and food for people settling on the beach for the day. Chips are nice from here, if a bit expensive.
