The inside looked very dark from the Streeti I wasn't sure if it was open or not. Love Poppins restaurant,and this has the friendliest staff member who calls me Ali G. Shame Poppins not in Southsea or Fareham,as good 'feel good' restaurant. Meals are great. Clean toilets aswell.
Popped in - no pun intended - for Brunch with Mum and brother. If it were bigger premises, it would be a match for Weatherspoons in terms of popularity. Quick efficient service with plenty of choice. This is all good but thats it. Frankly food is simple, uninspiring and fairly bland. Like the place itself. You do sort of 'get what you pay for' Unfortunately, this cliche' is generally true. ....Your choice.x
Appears to be a little more upmarket than your average Café, but the food reminds you that there is nothing special. Cheap quality ingredients, but not bad. Poppins is the Weatherspoons of Breakfast Cafés.Food: 3/5
Good straightforward food, reasonably priced and menu available all day. Polite and friendly staff. Clean and tidy. Highly recommended.

Ok so maybe looking at these reviews, I just got unlucky. That being said, what a dismal lunch. I left feeling sick after my horrible meal. Sausage tasted cheap, the egg didn't taste like egg, the burger was overdone, the chips tasted odd and the bacon just tasted off. The staff were also strangely monotonous and robotic, with no passion and friendliness. All round, very poor experience and have no plans to go back. Avoid!

Absolutely disgraceful £30 for omelette and chips and a regular breakfast. Both with a drink. Will not be using again
