One of the warmest welcomes I’ve ever received. All the staff on site are excellent, friendly & helpful. The location is beautiful, the facilities are basic but that’s what I loved about it. Pizza night was great, good value & tasty. We did a silent disco too, one of the funniest nights and so much fun. We were a group of 25 people, sometimes we were a bit rowdy but the girls dealt with this really well.. I would highly recommend this place.. thank you
We came here on two occasions over this summer. I love this kind of camping, quiet, beautiful environment, huge pitches and a real feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. Yes it's basic but that's half the charm. Loads of things to do locally and beautiful countryside to explore. I must mention how very helpful Jules and the team were. We originally booked in June but I injured my leg, Jules allowed us to rebook later in the summer with no fuss and all organised in a very efficient and friendly manner. I would definitely come back next year and would recommend. Thanks again
Lovely greeting on arrival with everything explained quickly. We were 12 families of mates together in field 3 & had a fantastic experience. Fairly basic facilities but isn’t that what it’s all about?! The pizzas on Friday night were delicious & highly recommended. Deliveroo etc also deliver to the site. £10 to cart your stuff seems a lot but it’s actually well worth it at least one way as quite bumpy & hilly. Hastings is very close by as is Battle and well worth a visit. Highly recommend - thank you
Exceptional. My friend and I had a lovely stay at this campsite. We felt extremely safe the entire time, which as two teenage girls was amazing. The staff were all friendly and willing to help with anything and the forest campsite was a magical experience. Unfortunately my friend and I had to leave early due to medical reasons and the customer service was incredible, they were so helpful and kind I highly recommend The toilets are extremely basic but clean
This weekend was our second year visiting this amazing campsite with three other families & a wonderful weekend was had by us all. The set up is just perfect for the kids to roam free and for the adults to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The staff are super helpful & approachable & we highly recommend the Bell Hop service & the Friday night wood fired pizzas. Super dog friendly & we can’t wait to visit next year & experience all the exciting things they have planned.
Wanted a quick stop off near where we were eating...though hotel but then changed mind as too much money. Then thought book our camper on a site but being our anniversary we treated ourselves to this little gem on an amazing site not far! We did get a discount so may be a bit more for future but its the most relaxing natural camp site ive prob ever stayed. Loved every min! Thanks!
I had some correspondence with this company where I asked for a partial refund but was ultimately ignored in the end. This turned out to be too expensive for our family and for the facilities provided. We are a family of five with three children, two nights with one tent cost us £120 which for really just a field is very expensive. I was very shocked to be charged an additional £5 to make use of the car park, this also wasn’t explained to us before we arrived and I couldn’t believe it really. You aren’t allowed to drive your car next to your pitch, I can understand this in order to protect nature and safety etc, but they offer a quad bike and trailer for £10 each way from the car park to your pitch. It’s about a 2/3 minute journey and again very shocked at this which is profiteering and not helpful. The light didn’t work in the one shower on offer so in the evening I had to wash with the door open, the water wasn’t piping hot as it was described, the washing up facilities were very poor I’ve been wild camping with much better before and there wasn’t a sink to wash your hands after using the toilet which I think is very poor. All around really quite unhappy and I don’t feel my concerns were addressed and I was ultimately ignored. The site itself is pretty, the bluebell wood is nice, it’s a good location for trips to Hastings, but the experience I’ve had with regards the cost has left a bad taste in my mouth I’m afraid. Leaving an honest review.
This is a great campsite, set in wonderful countryside, run by lovely people and if you want to get away from it all, perfect. We camped twice this summer, once hiring a bell tent for extended family the other on our own, with our own tent. Both weekends were to walk on the downs in Ore & Fairlight and get to the beaches at Pett & Camber Sands. Lovely warm showers, clean portaloos and big pitches make Pop-up a perfect base to explore the coast and towns nearby. Pizza night Friday was great and the free cup of Pimms really appreciated - thanks Vinny. There are 2 fields to camp in, the furthest is a bit of a schlep from the carpark but they do provided wheelbarrows for you to use - as they don't allow you to drive your car up though we did see some people who thought that rule didn't appeal to them!. There is a service you can pay for £10 each way, to lug your stuff, which I would consider if I had young kids and loads of kit. They allow you to have fires and provide a fire pit logs £6.50 a bag so don't forget the marshmallows! Only little gripe is not really about the site or the people who run it but some of the other campers, who allow their dogs to mess and not clear it up and most annoyingly, those that think that it is cool to appropriate a wheelbarrow the night before they are leaving and don't start packing away until mid morning - gits!
This is our second year here and once again we had a glorious time. The sight takes you back to basics, set in a rural, wild-ed environment. we were a party of 5 tents, 14 people, the policy for the campsite is to leave no trace which is wonderful. Our group ranged from ages 7-50 and we all had a fabulous time. The wooded area allows the kids to safely roam free, meet other kids on the site, the space between the other tents allows for peace and space for each group.
Spent 4 days at this beautiful location with our friends and the children. The owners were very helpful and informative from the day of booking, accomodating all our needs. As the site is eco friendly, you will need to be prepared for basic facilities! But we were made aware of this when booking. The site is spacious, you will get to enjoy peace and tranquility whilst surrounded by medows, woods and a stream. The kids absolutely loved the woods and made good friends with the owners' dogs. The owners and other staff at the site were friendly and made us feel welcome. We will come back again! P.S. Loved the 'No electronic music rule' - Camping is so much better with no blasting radios....
