"Pontyclun Community Council was first formed in 1985 and consists of 11 elected Community Councillors .It employs 6 members of staff and covers the Communities of Pontyclun, Groesfaen and Miskin.The Community Councillors are residents of the area who act on behalf of local people to try and preserve the best aspects of the villages, while also encouraging and supporting developments that will benefit the whole community.The Community Council is funded by a precept, which is raised from a tax paid by all householders."

Pontyclun is a fine area, and a pillar to the RCT. With amazing community, landscapes and architecture. I couldn’t think of a better area to reside in South Wales. Please excuse the Karen’s J Lushness’ comment, severely out of pocket. This is a fine establishment and the council do an excellent job. I for one, couldn’t better it in anyway.
The amount of rubbish on the roads and grass verges due to dirty people and lack of noise rubbish bins is getting ridiculous. The amount of high speed like race cars heard Fridays to Sunday mornings especially around the village is outrageous! The on pavement parking in many streets, the on road illegal parking? Miskin Road horsebox has been there since covid house with loads rubbish overgrowth constant. The roads need sorting, bins need sorting, speed in and out our streets
A large tree has split in the high winds last week and a very large trunk is directly overlying the footpath between the last style in Ivor Wood and the river path to Pontyclun in the direction of Miskin. The splintered trunk rests precariously on a small branch and a flimsy wire fence. It poses a considerable risk to the public. I attach photographs to show the potential danger.
