Had a fantastic day at Pontefract Races. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, making it a great day out for both adults and families. Food and drink options available.nThere were good views of the track from around the course. Staff were helpful and organised, helping everything run smoothly even when it was busy.nOverall, it was a really enjoyable experience and excellent value for money. We'd definitely visit again and would recommend Pontefract Races to anyone looking for a fun day out in Yorkshire.
Racecourse 28 for us as a family of 3. This racecourse is surrounded by a large park, playing field, play area and pond/small lake. It has a beautiful yorkshire charm and feel on approaching entrance. There are so many outdoor seating areas the most of any racecouse we have visited so far and was easy to see why was filling up as soon as gates opened. Plenty of places to grab a drink too. Restricted areas in stands where no alcohol is allowed.nAccess to watch parade ring is great and a raised grass area where the view and benches were appreciated.nViewing of the track was good from the terrace and stand area and again plenty of space.nThis racecourse is among my favorite and was worth the 2 hour drive from Chester. Great value. Premier ticket for less than £20.
On vip was a rip of. 60 quid a ticket U can get better sandwich from poundland. The cheap champagne. The strawberries was frozen. The vip area we had to go down to park. To have a better view. Has no view for the race. I the premier sweat down stairs.... lady's day 5of August 2026. I paid for tickets am angry bec this a birthday present for 5 members of family.

I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to Caroline at Pontefract Racecourse. We realised we had accidentally booked for the wrong day and were absolutely mortified, but Caroline couldn’t have been more helpful, understanding and accommodating.nnWhat started as a mistake turned into one of the most memorable Father’s Days we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, everything was fantastic – the atmosphere, the racing, and the friendliness of everyone we met. We genuinely had the best day ever as a family.nnCaroline, thank you for going above and beyond and for turning a stressful situation into such a special occasion. Your kindness and customer care didn’t go unnoticed, and we’re so grateful for everything you did for us.nnWe left with wonderful memories and will definitely be back. Thank you again for making Father’s Day so special.
