I have always wanted to visit and finally made it on this trip to London from the US...Absolutely worth the visit. A unique toy shop, especially for those who love theatre and paper creations. I bought more than I planned to because I couldn't resist! Many theatre kits are between £10-£30 with some higher priced items for theatrical devotees and lower priced items for those just looking for a curious card or souvenir. A couple of my purchases a Vivaldi, Victorian style hand-crank music box and a wooden Commedia puppet theatre already look right at home beneath my Christmas tree...If you love theatre and puppetry, this is definitely a shop to see. You won't find any "typical" toys, but rather a collection of imaginative kits and creations meant to inspire creative minds.
A beautiful toy shop with a wonderful selection! I took my two and a half year old daughter with me — the last time we went, she was too young to enjoy it! Whilst she was exploring the shop and really enjoying the toys, an attendant stopped her from playing with the toys - even though we were in a children’s toy shop obviously there to buy toys. I would say that whilst this is a lovely toy shop, it is not a child friendly toy shop!! We still bought toys so the day wasn’t a complete waste - we left with a jack-in-the-box and a Paddington Bear as well as a beautiful flat card that assembles into a Benjamin Pollocks toy shop, but major let down that they don’t want children to play with the toys.
A unique and uniquely worth visiting little shop specializing primarily in theaters. Paper, wood, etc. A welcome reprieve from soulless chains and the samey shopping of modern capitals. Prices from tourist to aficionado.
A great shop to browse. You can find really nice offers and unique products here. I really liked the fold-out cards, which I bought as a souvenir.
It's a cosy small shop with lots of whimsical toys, a bit of vintage vibes. Very nice staff. Don't forget to get a copy of their Xmas catalogue.
Promised a discount on a display model, then walked back on it. Overpriced, but good small selection of hand made items. Just treat your customers better. The young team member handled it extraordinary, he deserves a raise and should be training the team on how to treat customers. It was in fact the "manager" who revoked the 10% discount and put the young man in an awkward situation. This again, for a display model with scratches, dented box and potentially missing items.
Please beware of these people. I paid 30,95 for a theatre , 10 for taxes and a stunning 25 for shipment. The best surprise was a payable import duty and again taxes in a separate mail for a further 26. Theatre cost me more than €100! I ordered cheaper in the USA.
Cute little toy shop in Covent Garden. They specialize in pop up theatres. The lady at the counter, Roberta, was super nice and took the time to demonstrate how each of the toys worked and the history behind the store.
A lPandora’s box of treasures for our little ones to drool over. Prices put me off buying anything but lovely to visit. Mind the steep steps!
Cute little shop. The staff were very friendly. We had limited space in our luggage, so we just got a storybook.
