Conservation project work on the coast of southern Belize; 4 weeks of fascinating, diverse activities including mangrove surveys, bio-diversity studies, nature trail clearance and promotional work, review of local school conservation projects - Fun, hard work and thoroughly rewarding rewarding! I spent my initial few days helping construct some steps at the local primary school in Abenta. Despite having limited building experience, I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of designing and then building the school steps that will hopefully serve useful to the children and teachers at the school. The remainder of my time over the last 3 weeks I supported Gladys Darko teacher of year 4. My teaching experience was also very positive and I was immediately given responsibility for leading lessons on Maths, Science and English as well as supporting Gladys in other subjects. Additionally I ran an after-school ICT workshop for the children, where I tried to encourage the children in keyboard and mouse navigation skills and basic use of Word, Calculator and Paint program functions. I believe this worked well despite the limited number of laptops after the theft of a number of them prior to our arrival. I had a great 4 weeks in Ghana and felt I was not only doing something for the local community but even started to feel part of it. The local team are great and all of the Ghanaians I met in Abenta and elsewhere during our travels throughout Ghana were so friendly and welcoming.

A truly great experience. Although only 2 weeks for me, everyday was packed full of adventure. I signed up for construction and worked on 2 projects during my time in Ghana. One was a creche and the second was a health center. I met a great group pf people, not only the superb local staff but also a great bunch of other volunteers. We certainly worked hard mixing concrete during the day - building the foundations of future hope and success. The afternoons were spent either playing with the children (after school club), or simply chilling. There were cultural lessons put on by project and local teaching staff, authentic local cuisine tasted at "Aikins Mums House" as well as visits to local markets and even a evening excursion to the pub! I feel that although my visit was only 2 weeks, I achieved and experience so much. David Moore. Aged 53 - yes even older people can enjoy volunteering!!

I have recently returned from an English teaching placement in Bangkok. The experience was fantastic from beginning to end. Pod Volunteer has been an absolute pleasure to be involved with. The information provided about the placement, advice on booking flights, travel insurance and general preparation for travel was thorough, concise and accurate. Pod proved exemplary in keeping in contact throughout the month long placement and actively sought feedback post experience. Quite simply, Pod Volunteer delivers exactly what it says it will. I have no hesitation in recommending this organisation to others.

POD were a fantastic organisation to volunteer with and I could not have asked for a more efficient way of preparing and organising my trip in Ghana. They were always so quick to respond to any question I had, no matter how big or small, and it allowed for peace of mind during my travels. I had an amazing trip!

I have just been on a 2 week building placement in Madagascar which was brilliant and the 2nd trip I have booked through pod. Pod are a great company to work with.
