We have a delighted five year old who visited a music shop for the first time today, to get her very own ukulele rather than a loaned school one. The member of staff taking care of us was absolutely lovely! A gentle giant who towered over our little girl, but he was so kind - she wasn't even slightly shy with him! He treated her like a customer and didn't baby-talk her. He also knew exactly what we meant when we asked for a case that was "school-run suitable". Admittedly, the ukulele range in-store is limited, with a lot more choice on their website. However, we wanted her to have the very special experience of coming to a music shop. She's already eyeing up a purple electric guitar for when she gets bigger! Thank you to PMT for keeping the magic going for another generation of musicians in our family.
I visited PMT Leeds because I wanted to try their Antiquity guitar brand. I checked an AQ35 and the LS1, both looked perfect, nice , no flaws on the finishing, nice colours, the LS1 was a lemon drop and the AQ35 was red. The playability is very good, sounds great on OD/DS and the pickups are good quality. I'm planning to buy an AQ35 , it's really amazing for the price. Last but not least the team there is very helpful, all my gratitude for their support.
Thank you for helping on my birthday yesterday purchasing a BOSE RC-1 Loop pedal. I've been practising at home since- big shout out to Josh and Sam for your patience. My bad playing is driving my other half insane. Managed to get a great stand and capo too. Welcoming place to jam, will be back again!
Cannot rate this store highly enough. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Big shout out to Joe who went above and beyond to make sure I got the perfect guitar. Thank you.
A big selection of guitars, keys, plus other instruments I didn't look so can't say what but very disappointed that all of the items I had shortlisted to try out were not in stock. Just because it's "in stock" on the website doesn't mean they have it in store, so best to call beforehand. Even then, some items will NEVER be in store, and just drop-shipped direct from the supplier. You can't try them out and the shop said you can't return them which doesn't sound legal. I live 90 minutes away from Leeds. Luckily, I was already in the area, so it wasn't too much of a wasted trip.
Introducing the latest member of the family. Mr Jackson Dinky. Big shout out to Joe. I told him what I was after and he did not steer me wrong... A stunning guitar, perfectly setup by his own hands. Memories of a misspent youth... As soon as I plugged it in, it was like meeting up with an old friend after 30 years. Squealy divebombs and pinched harmonics, Dokken, Crue, Ratt riffs came flooding back. Licks that I hadn't played in decades. I played a borrowed Dinky back in the day, could never afford one of my own at the time but always promised myself that one day the time would come... Today was that day. I also want to mention their in-house guitar tech who looks after my other two babies. The Gibson Chet Atkins with it's nylon strings and funky electrics... And the Gretsch Chet Atkins with the Bigsby. Great work guys!!!!
It's a bit weird to be honest. It's like an inverse TARDIS, looks huge on the outside but there's so much equipment to supply there doesn't seem enough space. That said what is there is really nice. The staff are friendly helpful and most importantly not pushy. The prices for the stuff I was interested in were good and there's also a selection of used equipment for reasonable prices. Great experience.
Just a brilliant experience from start to finish. I was looking to get a new keyboard, spoke to Will who was very friendly and helpful. He talked me through the different options and then recommended I have a free demo appointment with Tom the Roland expert. Returned today for that, had 30 minutes being shown the basics, which were really well explained by Tom, and I now have my new keyboard along with stand, seat, speakers and headphones. Can't recommend highly enough
What a selection and not knowing anything about instruments at all. What was comforting was the staff's knowledge and not being pushy. We walked away with a happy child and a guitar within our budget for a beginner.
Great shop, really big inside. Massive collection of guitars electric/acoustic/bass also drums, pianos etc. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately I visited during peak time so it was very busy and noisy! plus I thought the valuation of my trade-ins was a little low. Still I will be returning here for sure
