Great Local Food shop and cafe. The great offer from butcher, we purchased quality foods and enjoy the cooking at my holiday cottage.
Yesterday on Easter weekend we went to Lake District and on the way back we decided to stop by this place. We bought X-large eggs which cost us £4.70 for 12 eggs. The quality looked amazing. Sharing some pictures.
Very good coffee, service and food. Well organised if you need to wait for a table - they give you a pager so you can look around the shops meanwhile! The artisan bakery there is absolutely fabulous - bread, rolls with such flavour and texture! The barley ciabattas are heavenly. So springy inside - real bread with no weird additives. Sour dough loaves are also perfection. Unbeatable quality!
Quite possibly the best bread you can buy anywhere. Well worth that little extra for the real thing. It keeps very well in the wax lined bags they serve it in. In fact way better then supermarket stuff. Always try to pop in when working in the Lakes. Cheers!

FANTASTIC . Very friendly staff. The meat is so tasty, it actually has flavor , something you don't always get in some places . The meat display was so well set out and it all looked so fresh . We bought quite a large quantity and the young lady who served us was so patient a helpful while we chose what we wanted . There was also a large selection of other products. Our only complaint is that we don't live nearer . We would be there weekly . Thank you Plumgarths .
Took the wrong turning on the way to Ambleside, what a surprise it turned out to be. Noticed the cafe as I was about to turn around and decided to stop as we were planning stopping somewhere for breakfast anyway, it was one of the best full english breakfasts I have ever had, my wife had the vegan breakfast and truly enjoyed it. The staff were excellent and the atmosphere was nice. Definitely worth calling in if you're in the area.
Great little farm shop with added bonuses of other small retail outlets and if course the cafe next door. Staff are always helpful and knowledgeable. Their meat is always excellent.
