The Playhouse Cinema in Louth offers a comfortable and enjoyable movie-going experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, creating a pleasant atmosphere from the moment we arrived. Ticket prices were reasonable, making it an affordable option for a day out.nnThe cinema itself was well-maintained and clean. However, there were a couple of minor issues. The male toilets lacked soap, which is essential for hygiene, and the hand dryer was out of order. These small inconveniences slightly detracted from the overall experience.nnDespite these minor drawbacks, the Playhouse Cinema is a great local cinema and definitely worth a visit.
Lovely Cinema, shame the interior has been updated with the times. If only they kept it similar to The Picture House in Leeds
It’s a great cinema and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. I’ve only given 4 stars because it’s not easy to get into with a wheelchair, the staff are always helpful however that takes my independence away. Like a lot of smaller places it’s easily overcome by having a short folding ramp available, I would definitely visit more often if it was more accessible.
Great cinema, would highly recommend. Independent cinemas are SO much better than big chains! The experience overall is much better and the tickets are always cheaper. Keep these little ones going and have a better experience!nnWe parked in the car park behind co op which was handy as could get some sweets en route to the showing!, it’s free after 18.00 but only a couple of pound before hand. I think this is the closest long stay car park which is a short 1-2 minute walk away from the cinema.nnWe checked in easily at the desk, they accept meerkat 241 making it an extremely cheap outing! The staff were friendly.nnScreen 1 itself was wonderful, comfortable seats with armrests and drinks holders and enough leg space for me and my partner both under 6ft. The screen is set back as it’s an old theatre. There was 10 minutes of adverts starting from the showing time before the film started. We watched a 3 hour film and there was an intermission in the middle where the curtain came down over the screen, it was approx 8 minutes long and gave a warning when the film was about to restart. It was ideal for such a long showing as gave everyone a chance to get another drink and use the toilet which is just outside the screen.nnScreen 1 is up several stair cases so if you are looking to book with a wheelchair or accessibility concerns I would call ahead rather than book online to ensure the experience is as expected.
What an amazing cinema, the staff are lovely, the cinema itself is beautiful, there are plenty of options for snacks and drinks. This has definitely made it onto our list of cinemas to visit
