This quite magnificent striking burial chamber is actually two burial chambers from a Neolithic barrow or Cairn. Both chambers still have their capstones and one of these is quite large indeed. No trace of the original mound or cairn remains but the monument is very well maintained. This monument is on private ground belonging to the Plas Newydd House and grounds and I visited it on a Cadw Open Doors day when access to the house and grounds was free for the weekend. I had a very very enjoyable day here I must say. It is worth keeping abreast of these Open Door events.
