Amazingly fresh Indian street food. Very home made taste to the paneer. Chicken fresh and tasty too with good sauces to flavour. Great spot for light lunches on the go. Friendly service too.
Delicious, good portion, healthy, affordable and with a warmer service! What else can a customer on a hurry ask for? The food was delicious, I had the classic photo, it was well prepared and the portion was considerably fair. The staff was so amicable that they won a regular now. The only reason I give four stars, is due to the lack of space to seat and eat inside, even though the food was amazing I had to lunch outside and it was really cold ruining a bit the experience
Nice lunch spot in central London. Well located for all modes of transport i was driving this day and there was conveniently parking outside the restaraunt on a friday lunchtime so that's a big bonus in my.eyes. I had the bone marrow lamb curry and rice with the trimmings..i went for the meal option which came with a amazing cooling lemon and cucumber water based cooler and also came with naan balls. Which I disnt like unfortunately as they were not my kinda thing nice spot inexpensive full of flavour.
At the time of writing, I’ve had a pilau rice box nearly 10 times and I’ve never had a food that’s so consistent in quality and taste. The concept is simple. STEP ONE Pick either a Wrap / Rice Bowl / Salad Bowl STEP TWO Pick Medium or BIG STEP THREE Pick your filling, BUTTER CHICKEN / LAMB & BONE MARROW / PANEER STEP FOUR Add the extras, Lettuce / PILAU Slaw / Pickled Ginger / Red Onion/ Shoestring Bhaji / Fresh Chillies Sauce: Mint & Coriander Yogurt / Mango & Apricot Chutney My choice is a rice, lamb, all the extras minus the slaw and no sauce. Hands down, this is one of the best lamb curry’s you will eat. The lamb is always super soft and tender it has a somewhat melt in the mouth quality. The flavours are enhanced with the use of bone marrow which just adds takes you another level of taste town and in this town, everything is yummy. I’ve also had the butter chicken twice, it’s good as well but the lamb is on another level. Pilau is ideal for lunch but you can grab a box and sit in as well. It’s not a restaurant per se and is focused on the lunch time and take away crowd. halalfoodguy.co.uk insta - halalfoodguy
Very popular spot for lunches. There is usually a small queue, however it goes fast, due to the efficiency of helpful staff. Loved their paneer with rice dish! Reasonably priced, good portions. Eat in or take away – both options are available.
Went there for the first time couple days ago and got the lamb and bone marrow with mint/coriander and chilli sauce..was delicious. Absolutely loved it. Will be going back again to try other stuff :
Fantastic service and delicious comfort food. I had The Classic: butter chicken thighs with pilau rice, a little bit of slaw and mango and apricot chutney. The box looked small but the amount of food you get is filling. This seems like a great place to come for lunch, or maybe an early dinner.
Been here a few times. Quality has really gone down and it shows in the number of customers. Not sure how busy it is for lunch but dead for dinner. Quite disappointing as the food used to be delicious. Last time I got the paneer chicken wrap it was thrown together and the wrap tastes stale.
Been here since it was first opened! The food was great at the beginning but the portion of food varies from time to time. Ordered a medium rice bowl today, the small portion of rice did surprise me. I usually opt out for toppings so requested for more rice. However, the rice was very dry and I'm not sure if it's properly cooked or not. I would just recommend having the wrap only as the rice bowl was very dry, there was barely any sauce from the meat and most importantly the rice itself was very dry and unpleasant.
Not sure what has happened to this place that was a favourite of mine. The prices have changed which was fine, but the last two visits the flavour was lacking in both the lamb and the chicken. Too much rice maybe? Also on my last visit the wrap disintegrated on being carefully unwrapped and mixed with the paper making about 25% of it inedible.
