An absolute delight. The staff were some of the friendliest we've ever encountered bonus points for being smitten with the dogs, the room was lovely - a huge, comfy bed, a minibar with supplies of tea, coffee, juice, and biscuits that was very welcome. The bar is also excellent. Breakfast included some of the best bacon I've ever had, and I don't say that lightly ! A bit pricey for dinner but worth it as a treat. The bar got surprisingly raucous in the evening, though it was Christmas party season and I imagine the upstairs restaurant would be quieter. Good seafront location where we could watch our ferry sailing off, a few minutes walk from the beach. Overall a lovely experience and I can't think of a bad word to say about it. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
I have both stayed here and eaten here. The Hotel is boutique style, with each room very well appointed. Beds are very comfortable. The rooms are kept very clean. The best rooms face the river, where you can relax and watch the ships go by. The restaurant is excellent. Staff always make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The menu has a modest selection of items, but covers everything from Fish to meat and includes various vegan and vegetarian options. Not having a massive menu means that everything is cooked to a excellent standard. They also have Gluten Free options, which is what I look for. The Gluten Free Fish and chips is a must. Always super fresh fish here, and the batter is simply the best Gluten Free Batter I have ever had. If you like fish and sea food you will particularly like it here. I do love the odd lobster, which is always excellent. A good selection of wines and cocktails. There is limited car parking at the back. A bonus is that there is an EV charger on the street directly opposite. I always take my mother here when visiting her, so that is how good it is.
A lovely setting for a leisurely and very enjoyable lunch. Friendly and efficient service. The Pier has a very tempting menu and a well earned reputation for good seafood. A nice choice of wines and drinks from the bar. We have been many times and will be back again as the standard is always high and never disappoints.
We took our Mum to celebrate her 101st birthday. What a treat! Lovely friendly and helpful staff and absolutely top notch food. We also loved the shipping forecast in the loos.
Went to the restaurant for a birthday. Lovely food, exceptionally presented & certainly worth a visit for a special occasion. A nice spot by the harbour with a balcony looking out so you can see the ships go by. A nice touch was the ships bell, rang as the ferry from Holland came past Now owned by the Milsoms people - their other places are well worth visiting
We have stayed in the Pier several times now and will do so again. You cannot fault the staff whose attitude and work ethics are beyond most establishments we have in London at three times the price. Even the younger teenage staff conduct themselves with a maturity far beyond their years. This year, we had the three nights Christmas Break and stayed in the Mayflower Suite, which has a lovely big window that overlooks the old Port. Food is exemplary, as is the vast selection of drinks available. It seems all of the Milsoms chain are of similar quality, as we have used them on other occasions. A shining example of how hospitality should be.
On arrival, we were welcomed by Gillian, who really went the extra mile. Great start! Our room was fine although probably ready for a refresh. Knob on cupboard door to kettle and fridge came off every time you opened it as held on with a blob of blue tack, which was irritating. Dog-friendly, which is great although £35 extra charge is the most we've paid for one night. We ate dinner in the Navyard, which is dog-friendly, and had an amazing meal. But it was breakfast that bkew us away in the first floor restaurant. The views are AMAZING, the food superb, my Eggs Royale were fantastic and the service from Caroline was absolutely first class. The location, food and service really are exceptional and we'd love to return.
We had lunch here to celebrate my Mom's 101st birthday. The staff were attentive and very sweetly gave here a glass of bubbly and a lovely little desert. The food was outstanding. We started with oysters easily as good as the Sydney Rock Oysters that we are used to, then we had the Moules Mariniere that were out of this world, followed by sole, also excellent. Expensive but then you don't celebrate 101 years very often.
Not much choice from thr menu for gluten intolerance combined with dairy intolerance and not a meat eater. Expensive for what it was. Good service though. Won't be going back.
Amazing place, the food and the staff is amazing. Traditional building totally refurbished. First class serviceRooms: 5/5
