This is a little gem in the heart of Birmingham. We where welcomed with a very friendly smile by all the staff, and would especially like to thank manager Qasim for his exceptional service. The attention to detail is impeccable, and the food hands down is probably one of the best we have had; we ordered the lamb taka tak and it was delicious. The ambience is perfect, and the cleanliness is second to none. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for nice evening out, you won’t be disappointed.
Went for a lunch. Asked the waiter for recommendations, for their specialities and was advised to take kali mirchi karahi so took this and chops for a starter. We were served pappadams with sauces, unfortunately my poppadom was taken back by the waiter before I could finish it. Food arrived super fast which in this case wasn't a good thing... Chops were pre cooked taste like boiled a day earlier, covered in a strange powdered taste like masala. Black pepper mutton wasn't very impressive, consistency and taste like cooked by amateur chief. Very disappointing as if it was recommend as a house special so should have that wow factor but it looks like it was recommended based on what they had leftover from the night before and just need to get rid off. We couldn't finish that small portion of mutton and had to take half home - after 2 days still have that box in the fridge as no one feel tempted or hungry enough to eat it... Room was very cold with AC full on blasting. Overall I'm quite confident we were served a leftovers from a previous day, except naans that were the only fresh items on the table . At this point I don't think we will go back there again . Parking: Off street or paid car park near by.
What a lovely classic place to eat. The staff are so helpful and attentive! They served us free pompadour and dips. The food was so yummy we couldn’t even finish the food. My second time visiting this lovely place and won’t be my last. Food: 5/5
I'm told this is one of the original restaurants from the balti triangle, and honestly the quality and taste of the food makes Indian restaurants where I live seem rubbish. The food has a depth of flavour that is amazing and is presented well too. The staff are super helpful and couldn't do more to make sure our experience positive. I've been twice now, and I would love to go again. Vegetarian options: 2 of our party chose from the vegetarian options and, and we're really pleased with their food. The kitchen even customised one dish to include additional mushrooms for one of the party and he was very happy.
The food was fresh and tasty. Starters and main course both lovely. The staff were friendly and provided good service. Prices slightly high I thought. Certainly improved the food since the last time I visited here which was many years ago.Food: 5/5
This was my first “eat out” curry back in 1982. I have been an infrequent visitor since - mainly as I live far away. The next generation of the family have taken the restaurant to the next level - still true to its roots but up-to-date. Great lunch and food had a Desi kick delicious
We were greeted with papadoms and a variety of sauces including chutney, mango, pickled achaar. The large mix grill had a variety of meat with kebab, chicken, wings and lamb chops which were tasty. Tried the lamb karahi, chicken karahi and ghoust saag. All curries were flavourful with a decent amount of spice, which I enjoyed as it was a good level of spice for me personally. If you are a fan of spicy spicy food, this probably won’t hit the spot. Best naans I have ever had! Recommend opting for these. They are amazingly soft. I loved the mango lassi, sweetness to compliment my meal. Chips were over fried. Beautiful interior, clean toilets and good customer service.
One of my long time favourites. Haven't come regularly for a long time but last night was as good as ever. Still run by the same family and, in fact, the father was in last night. He remembered us and was polite enough to come over and talk to us. Restaurant is run by the sons and it was good to see that they are well in control here front of house and in the kitchen. Menu has a contemporary feel about it you don't get a book with 500 choices but there is plenty of choice and it is authentic in taste. We had starters and main which was plenty and they do allow bring your own drink. It's a little smarter than some more typical restaurants around here and the service is good. They have a full choice of fresh fruit drinks and mocktails. Clientele is quite varied from groups of young women to families and then larger parties. Not too busy this Saturday and no function upstairs otherwise it can get very loud. Open kitchen means you can see how hard they are working and that food is freshly prepared. There is a small public car park opposite free but you'll be lucky to find space on a busy evening. Like many, we are always drawn to our favourite dishes. Here they do the classics well, bhuna, karahi, keema and lamb saag are always among our choices.
We come from London & always stop here to get some food. Ordered again today & there was a mix up with our order however, we came back and Hafeez was very accommodating and rectified the mistake as we were about to make our way back home. Cannot fault his customer service
First time I went to Al Faisals with family. Food was nice, I was expecting that food was a little more desi as this restaurant is at the heart of Asian community. Definitely go back again when I am in Birmingham next time. Love the sweet lassi, Definitely recommend it
