Really nice atmosphere. I had a fab roast beef lunch one of the best I have had eating out for quite a while and my lad went Italian. Although different styles the meals were delivered together. Excellent service even though table not booked. Very reasonably priced. We will be visiting again.

Customer service and lots of OH MY GOD.... Possibly the best Italian outside of Rome itself. The boss met us waiting outside. Invited us in. Let us choose the table as we were going to be quick..... Food to simply die for.... Ok.... well words can't express the way this place made us feel. Visit or miss out. 😁

Very disappointing, we had booked a meal prior to going to the Jazz in Southwell, we had a table booked for 5.30pm. On arrival we were told to sit anywhere we liked which I thought a little strange as the table had been booked, we were served by a young lady who had peeling black nail varnish on and biro writings all over her hands, not what I expect from a cafe never mind a restaurant. The first confusion came when I mentioned that they would be really busy that night due to the fact it was Valentine's day, to which she replied yes it was a new thing that had probably come from abroad! (to my knowledge it dates back to the 14th Century!) together with the fact they didn't seem to know what menu to give us, after three attempts on explaining and taking menus away and bringing them back we didn't actually care which menu it was just as long as we could have one! We are easy going but come on! A bottle of wine was ordered and when it came it had a little cork in the top so I said don't worry, as she seemed to be getting flustered from the mess with the menus, and removed it, I didn't see but my husband said she then ran her finger round the inside of the bottle top, with those nails and hands! I have to say that if I had seen that I would have said something. The starter was a cold starter with little that could go wrong, however, it did, we were offered bread with the starter, so we waited, when it didn't come we decided not to wait any longer, half way through the course the bread arrived, by this time there were more staff than customers. We had ordered two chicken mains and when they came only one was announced which was the one I ordered, so one would have assumed that the other was for my husband. We thought it didn't look as we expected it to, but they must know better than us, we decided to taste both and indeed it was the incorrect meal. Another waitress came after about 5 minutes and said we had been given the wrong meal but we had started it so we said not to worry we would have that meal instead. I have to say the meal was mediocre for the price, we did have an uninspired dessert considering it was Valentines day and followed it up with coffee. Nobody seemed to know what was going on and there was no organisation resulting in the same questions being asked by different members of staff. Due to the fact that a number of the staff knew about the problems we had experienced I did anticipate an apology from the management and even a complimentary coffee, neither were offered. We had paid over £80 for a less than satisfactory meal with less than satisfactory service in a restaurant that had no organisation (or so it appeared on the night) needless to say we will not be returning to the Piano for a repeat performance. May I add that I very rarely write a bad review but have made an exception here.

Nice restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Lovely staff and service. Food too expensive for what you get. Vegan options bland, basic and average. I had brushcetta to start - it was ok, expensive at almost £6 for some bread topped with tomatoes and a little bit of garlic oil. Mains offered (vegan): 2 types to tomato based pasta, risotto or salad. Not inspiring at all. Had the pasta - almost £12. Very small portion. It was ok, nothing I felt I didn't make just aswell at home. Didn't bother with dessert, lemon sorbet. I dont dislike sorbet, I just wouldn't choose it as my idea of dessert. Partner enjoyed his steak and starter (some seafood thing). The food was ok, certainly not offensive. I wouldnt choose to go back there as I feel the vegan options are bland and what I tasted was just average and expensive for what you get but I would certainly suggest people try it for themselves, its a nice, relaxed atmosphere, staff are friendly and helpful and I do appreciate that they even had a few vegan options in the first place. I would go back if a friend chose to go there for their birthday meal or something but not as my own choice of restaurant.
