Pi Woodfired
"Pi was born in Winchester in 2014 from a simple idea and a big dream.Following a stint working in a Florence pizzeria, first-time restaurateur Rosie Whaley was inspired to serve simple, exceptional and honest food in a vibrant atmosphere you’d want to return to with your family and friends time after time. The Pi artisan dough has been perfected by our team of Italian chefs and the secret recipe involves up to a 72-hour fermentation process, resulting in a light and lean base with airy crispy crusts; perfect for our innovative, creative menu combinations. We pride ourselves on working with hand-picked specialist producers in Italy and local UK independent suppliers."

Ordered takeaway from Pi. There was hardly any ham hock on this pizza, which was barely lukewarm when it arrived. The arancini was stone cold and looked raw and inedible. Wouldn't give this to a dog. Wish they'd take better care with their takeaway orders as they seem to with their restaurant customers.
I can easily say that had one of the most tasty pizzas in Winchester. Everything feels very natural from the dough to the ingredients. You can also split the big pizza 20" in halves or thirds, so you can try more flavours.
Everything was really tasty and had a warm atmosphere. The staff was friendly. We got the Ham Hock pizza, the goat cheese pizza, and the truffle mac and cheese was really good!!
Good food and the staff were really friendly. The way they make there food is amazing as well since they use a fire oven like thing. However, the variation of pizza wasnt great as it was quite a limited choice but the margarita was MAGNIFICENT. Atmosphere was also good with a classic sort of feeling. Would definitely go again.Food: 4/5
Unquestionably the best pizza I’ve ever tasted. The dough was light and fluffy and the lamb on the topping was delicious. Plus a very attentive service when ordering and even a friendly wave from the chef as I left. I’ll certainly be back!
Very nice pizza. Not many choices. Accommodating thought for alterations on a fixed menu. 12inch and 20inch pizza to choose from. There are lots of drinks to choose from. Car park if you are lucky in front for few cars and if this is busy then there is a train station car park a minute walk from the place. Very nice staff, nice Friday night music but might be too loud for some and too bouncy.
Ordered just shy of £50 worth of food: a half and half pizza, charcuterie, burrata, and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese box was open when it arrived and stone cold. The pizza was decent, but again barely any heat. The charcuterie was just sad. Two types of meat just thrown in a pizza box with artichokes, focaccia, and pickles. Thought they would be more variety or some attempt to make it look appealing, but it looked like it was slapped together in 20 seconds. The fiasco was good, but the variety and amount for the money is honestly ridiculous. Really enjoyed pi pizza the last couple of times I ordered, always been on the pricey side but always worth it before. This time however was disgraceful.
We are locals and have been regular customers for several years. We are only leaving this review in the hope that the owners might address some of the issues as in its current state we will not be returning. This is our third bad experience in the last 3 months. The issues are: - staff are scruffy and unprofessional, eating behind the bar, chatting about their personal lives, badly dressed and one female employee put her hands down the back of her trousers in front of us. - the loo is filthy, very dusty and dirty with a grim old bottle of industrial handwash. - there was no beer on tap. The alternative we were offered turned out to be unavailable too. Please bring back the Pi we love!
One of the best pizzas in Winchester. The Margherita, spiced lamb and Aubergines pizzas were all excellent. The service is very good.
The head chef is Sicilian and knows how to teleport you back to Italy with one bite. Sensational pizza and love the half and half option so you can try more!
