Me and my best friend went here for an axe making day, our wives got it us as a Christmas gift. We drove 215 miles and it was absolutely well worth it! We had such a laugh and also opened up my eyes to the talent of a black smith. If you want to work hard for a day and get something out of it then this is the place to be, it’s a very physical day but well worth it. We loved the environment, the clanging of the steel, the sound of the furnaces and just the whole thing was really cool. Apron, ear defenders and safety glasses are provided, tea and coffee is provided throughout the day, you take your own lunch or nip to the local shop.nnIf you want a rewarding days graft with sparks flying around this is perfect. You use a variety of different hand tools and also the big belt sander at the end to finish off the axe.nnThey do Allsorts of classes here and I really recommend this placennThank you Will and your team for an awesome day and the memories it created for me and my mate
Had a really lovely day making a knife here - the whole experience was fantastic.nnWilliam is a great teacher - and his skills and expertise are amazing to see first hand.nnI really appreciated his approach - showing us what to do, and then answering questions as needed - but then just expecting the class to get on with it. The forge is well equipped, and the whole experience had a really nice atmosphere to it.nnOverall - it was a very satisfying day, run by a someone who is a proper craftsman. Thoroughly recommended.
A fantastic 3 day course and introduction to a working forge. From the demos, guidance and freedom to create our own masterpieces, to being joined on lunch by all the staff of the forge even those not teaching the course to have a laugh and good old natter.nWill's teaching style made it easy to follow, and despite him making it look easy when the group started to look like may not get finished Liam and Hugh added their skills and made sure we all left with finished swords.nRecommended this to anyone who fancies crafting their own steel pieces.
Came here for a friends stag do to do a 1 day axe making course.nnGreat atmosphere throughout. William is a great teacher and very easy to get on with. Really enjoyed that staff joined us for lunch to chat and get to know us.nnWill absolutely be looking to do longer courses here when able! 10/10 would reccomend
My girlfriend and I completed the 5-day Sword Making Course this week and couldn't be happier.nnWill is a fantastic instructor, ensuring that the course gives everyone real hands-on experience at every aspect.nnReally cannot thank him, his team, and our other class members enough for making our week in Camarthen welcoming and utterly amazing.nn10/10 - Cannot recommend highly enough.
