Went for Sunday carvery.Couldn’t fault it. £12.50 for a large plate and help yourself.Good selection of meat and veg.Meat was a generous portion. Meat was not fatty and no wastage. Would definitely recommend.Only gripe was our table was next to carvery so a lot of traffic. This place gets busy and had a queue for carvery but it moved rather quickly.Would definitely visit again.Probably best to book.
Visited at 3pm on Sunday was very busy but we had prebooked a table. Staff were very busy, but they were friendly and provided a great service. We opted for the carvery, only slight concern was seeing the queue which went around the corner and it did take us 15 minutes to get to the carvery, however once we did the food was great with a choice of sizes to suit all, I had the standard which was ample for me. We followed with some desserts which were lovely. Overall the service was good, friendly and efficient We would visit again
We went for a Xmas family dinner with over 20 people, I used crutches instead if my wheelchair. There were lots of other wheelchair users, but the disabled parking spaces were taken up. Kids really enjoyed the meal and especially the puddings. There was plenty of space for us to watch the world cup final.
Came for a Sunday lunch and it was lovely! The food was hot! Not warm like some other carverys. The meat was flavoursome and the best thing is all the food is local produce and you can taste the difference. I'm gluten free and the only reason I gave 4 stars is because they didn't have gf Yorkshire puddings or stuffing, otherwise it would've been 5! They have another gluten free menu and it has A LOT of choice.
Fantastic looking place. The team were very helpful. The carvery was absolutely amazing. I had the beef and it was melt in the mouth. The Yorkshire puddings were lovely. I used to run a carvery so know what to expect. But will highly recommend the Pheasant
Popped in after work, when we arrived it looked very busy. A table was found for us and our order was taken very quickly, we opted for the carvery. When we returned to our table our drinks were waiting for us. The food was absolutely delicious, I still had enough room for a dessert cheesecake again this was delivered swiftly. All the staff were welcoming and polite. Will definitely return for another roast.
We went for the carvery and sadly I couldn't eat it because of the damn heat. Perhaps not the best idea a hot roast on a scorching and humid day BUT the food and value were excellent and the service would have graced a top restaurant, the young staff were super pleasant and efficient. Nothing too much trouble. Dog friendly to boot. I look forward to going back for a hot roast on a cooler day.
Lovely meal, and I am not a regular Carvery user. Thought the choice and condition of the vegetables was excellent. Yorkshire pudding was very hard, possibly kept warm too long. The staff were all lovely, attentive but not intrusive. Thought the children’s menu was good too. Would benefit from some investment to create a more family friendly open space but I know times are tight in hospitality.
My Mum uses a walker so needs quite a bit of manoeuvring room. We were given a table with plenty of space on a level floor which was perfect. The food was lovely and fresh and although the restaurant was packed we did not have to wait for service at all.
On arrival to The Pheasant there were signs up stating ‘pie and a pint’ as a promotional deal and decided rather than getting a glass of white wine and a Pepsi Max we would instead have a pint of Guinness and a Pepsi Max as the Guinness would be free if one of us ordered the pie. Our food arrived and as you can see by the photo of the pie, it was burnt. We began eating in the hopes it would taste better than it looked when the manager of the restaurant approached us to let us know that because the person who ordered the pie is not the person they have observed drinking the Guinness, the Guinness will not be free! With this promotion, they’ve forgotten to mention that if you order the pie with a free pint and you are not the person drinking the pint the pint will not be free Safe to say I immediately sent the charcoal flavoured pie back, declined the offer of waiting 25 minutes for another pie to be cooked and swiftly left the restaurant. The manager who dealt with the situation could not seem to see the irony of having to monitor who on each table was drinking and eating what. If rules such as this one exist then the customer should be informed at the point that they are ordering. Next time we will just get the bloody white wine and be done with it… or never go back to the pheasant. P.S. spot the little fishy friend we found under our table who has seen better days
