I sadly lost my fiancee in November 2022, it was sudden and I was in shock. He had a Dignity Funeral Plan, and from the moment I contacted Peter Johnson they were all SO lovely and were only too happy to help me with all the questions I had to ask them. During the pandemic Johnson’s handlers funerals very poorly compared to other funeral directors and as you only have one funeral, I cannot forgive them, despite the fact my father didn’t pass away from covid and didn’t have covid they said they wouldn’t embalm him other funeral directors were embalming at this time it wasn’t a law or a rule/restriction at the time, it was a choice We were also told we could only have ONE visit during his 2 weeks at the chapel of rest as they would only open the coffin once, they made us sign a disclaimer to say that we accept ‘the body’ would be basically in a very bad way due to not being embalmed and that they wouldn’t dress him because they wouldn’t touch him etc, we were told quite clearly that seeing ‘the body’ would be very unpleasant to see etc they basically tried to talk us out of seeing him and the whole family said they didn’t want to see him imaging how bad he may look etc except me and my husband, we went and he looked NO different to someone who had been embalmed! They also HAD dressed him laid his shift and tie over him but tucked it all in etc and he looked so beautiful and peaceful there was NO right or reason for this company to behave the way they did during such a difficult time. They stole the time me and my family could and would of had with my dad during his time in their chapel of rest and I will never ever forgive them for this.
We have just had my Dad’s funeral today, conducted by Peter Johnson at Whiteleas Way. I have nothing but praise for the staff here. Kay was our funeral arranger and she has been so professional, kind and calm. Nothing has been an issue for her despite me feeling a nuisance at times. Jamie the funeral director was also very reassuring and kept things on track. Massive thanks to the humanist celebrant Ian Hunter who made our day with his brilliant portrayal of Dad’s life. All in all, what could have been a very sad and bland day, has turned out to be still sad at times, but overall, a fine celebration of a good man. Many thanks.
Excellent service provided by Peter Johnson. They kept me up-to-date with regular phone calls during the whole process. The funeral director also came to the house and was very gentle and kind with the whole family. I would recommend this directors to anyone after going through the difficulties of losing a loved one.
The staff were very professional. They guided us through the options and were very helpful when we asked any questions about the arrangements. They are sympathetic to what the family are going through and ensure all arrangements are made. The funeral director Paul was great as were Sam and Joanne when we went in to visit.
Peter Johnson's funeral service was 2nd to none, Paul was the director who coordinated everything we wanted down to the smallest details. The staff before, during and afterwards offered us the up most compassion and after care anyone could wish for. I would highly recommend this funeral company when wanting the best care a family could wish for at a difficult time, for the family and their lost loved ones. Conducted my dad's funeral with the utmost dignity and respect. Couldn't thank the team enough. Claire, Joanne and Sam for looking after him and us so well and nothing was too much trouble, and Keith for looking after us on what was a very difficult day. Thank you all so much xx
I have used peter johnsons for both my parents funerals ,the service I received both times have been excellent from start to finish they were very comforting and understanding and very helpful , I would certainly reccommend them ..
Excellent service, always kept in touch throughout, can't fault them, privacy and dignity was given to my dad thank you all for the service provided.
Really good service could not have asked for better would recommend this funeral dierecters as a good services
