Reviews
This place offers abysmally poor service and despite all the terrible reviews, the surgery show their further disdain of patients by not even bothering to respond to them. My recent private referral was delayed due to the administration staff not submitting the referral on time. I constantly chased the referral and got palmed off with vague responses such as "it should be done in time", "hopefully we will get it done" but absolutely no commitment one way or another. I ended up complaining and instantly got a call apologising for the delay but the excuse given was complete nonsense. I was actually amazed that she apologised but maybe as I complained or it was early when she called and she made a mistake. My other experiences with the reception staff are that they lack training in customer service and they just can't be relied upon to deliver. Mind you it seems that nowadays health services are self serving with patient care far down their list of priorities and this surgery is no different. I see many people also have a problem with Dr Lee, I met her once and wrote a 3 page complaint the following day. Terrible. It is about time people were shown how much these GPs are paid to get an idea how much this "free" service is costing us. Furthermore, if the NHS are so wonderful then why not have a fully managed review system on their website and let's see what everyone thinks of their service. We are constantly told that they're underfunded but they are given massive funding, the real problem is that they underperform and constantly whinge.
I'm writing to follow up on a phone call that my wife had this morning with Dr Alison Kerr of Perth City Medical Centre Caledonian Road, Perth PH2 8HH. My daughter has been unwell for the last 14 days. Initially, she was seen by Dr Wilson, who was excellent and advised us to administer Calpol and Nurofen independently; if her health declined further, then we were advised to contact the practice again as antibiotic treatment might be necessary. Considering her young age 22 months and the direct threat of Strep A with known cases in the area, my wife has had no choice but to contact the Perth City Medical Practice to request an appointment as my daughter has been presenting unwell through the morning with a high fluctuating temperature 40C and constant cough. In that distressing time, from the start of the conversation with Dr Alison Kerr my wife felt patronized, as according to Dr Kerr "there was nothing to worry about" which brings the question of how she could possibly claim that a patient is ok without even seeing one? It is to be understood that we are all in the Christmas spirit, and likely Dr Kerr would like to "clock off" from work, but unfortunately her role requires commitment, which in this particular case was nowhere to be seen. My wife became emotional while speaking with Dr Kerr as she felt degraded by her attitude and unprofessional approach. Dr Kerr made it quite obvious that even if we bring our daughter in, we will likely waste her time, which is highly alarming. Further, Dr Kerr made my wife uncomfortable by claiming that she is not able to understand her properly, noting that my wife is a professional herself. We were offered an appointment with Dr Wilson instead, but the damage has been done. From a father’s point of view, I find it bizarre that in this day and age, one could treat someone with such a degrading manner and lack of empathy. What is even more alarming is that Dr Kerr displayed a huge amount of arrogance, because of which other patients might suffer. For this reason, we decided to move our daughter to a local GP practice and seek medical assistance elsewhere. Lastly, we would like to thank Dr Wilson for her help since our daughter was born, but we don’t want to put her health at risk due to the incompetence of another GP.
My daughter seen dr Lee this morning. This dr was so professional & made my painfully shy daughter feel very much at ease. Explained everything that she was about to do & gave my daughter so much dignity. Would highly recommend Dr Lee
Posting this on behalf of my wife. Tried to get an appointment and the best they could offer was a telephone appointment in 2 weeks. After the telephone consultation a doctors appointment was given for the following week and the doctor then referred her to the physio. Got appointment to see physio at the medical centre another week later and attended the appointment as arranged. Checked in at reception and was told to take a seat in the waiting room which she did. 45 minutes later there was still no sign of seeing the physio so went back to reception only to be told that the physio was at a different surgery that day and I should have gone there. Why was she not told this when the appointment was made and more importantly why was she not told this when she checked in for the appointment. Overall, this was terrible service from this medical centre and from the receptionists in particular.
I don’t know how many times their staff have lost my prescription! By the time I get my meds it will be six days without! After apology and apology and repeated to and fro they still can’t get it right. Even worse after my third visit within the last two weeks I was told I have to wait another 48 hours. I have a genetic lung issue and need these meds but was not even offered an emergency prescriptions safe to say somebody their is exceptionally inept at their job. Time to change.
Worst GP in Perth. I can't believe they get away with such poor practice. They'd rather throw pills at you than actually do their jobs. Disgusting.
Used this doctor as a temporary doctor's so I could use them to get my prescription which I forgot to take with me from Aberdeen. The reception staff seemed rather nice and pleasant and they got me a doctor appointment sorted within 5 minutes to get my prescription. So all in all a positive experience from this surgery.
Dr Dunbar and Dr Davage are great GPs, but avoid Dr Lee if you can. Numerous failings and lack of support. Telephone appointments are increasingly difficult to come by, as are waiting times. I had a review appt this morning but also had the school run- I use public transport therefore I didn't hear my phone- nor is a bus the ideal place for a conversation about my mental health. When I phoned surgery back I was told I'd lost my appointment.
I had a very bad experience with the surgery. I tried to register my mom and they informed that considering we did not the answer the phone call with the nurse, they would not move forward with her application. however, I did not received their phone calls.
Avoid this practice! I’m just about to report them to NHS. I have been reassured that drinking alcohol on Propranolol is absolutely fine, they forgot to prescribe the meds we’ve been discussing about I had to wait weeks to get it and when I was finally able to speak to the doctor, she said “oh thanks for the reminder I prescribe it now” rather than an apology. I have been told that my back pain which kept me awake the 3rd night ALL NIGHT when I asked for an emergency appointment is not an emergency and I didn’t get any painkillers from them until about 2 WEEKS after! Also one of them said he has a back pain too and deals with it every day so I guess my back pain can’t be worse than the doctors, right? Been told a few times that the doctor have at least 20 other patients waiting so he has no more time for me. An absolute disgrace of a gp practice, if you care about your health go somewhere else
