Went to the school for their Christmas market. Although a really wet, soggy day , it was very busy. A splendid market with all sorts of gifts . Choir was a highlight, enjoyed singing along . I bought some very novel& pretty tree decorations.
An incredible school. The teachers and everyone involved go above and beyond for their students. Holly has loved every second, not just excelling academically but the abroad trips as well the chance to be part of the prefect team and Spanish team. A special mention to an incredible tutor, Mr Dyke. Always an email or call away and nothing is ever to much trouble. Holly's excellent maths result is dedicated to him. Many thanks Penrice
Thank you Penrice School we have just received our sons exam results and we are delight with the progress he has made. However this is only a small part of what you have offered him throughout the 5 years. You have constantly encouraged the students to believe in themselves and supported them along their journey. The staff at Penrice care about the students and genuinely want the best for them. Many will go above and beyond expectation to offer additional revision sessions, extra curricular activities and amazing sporting opportunities. My son will never forget his time at Penrice he has made many friendships and many more happy memories. Thank you team Penrice, you have been amazing and a special mention for the Head of Year Mrs Razzell who has been truly inspirational and passionate in her role.
I went to this school and by the time I reached year 11 they became extremely strict. They have removed the doors off of the bathroom entry and have security cameras looking in which I understand would be due to smoking yet is very invasive and made me uncomfortable. The help the staff give for mental health is terrible as I had many breakdowns throughout my school experience and the only teachers that actually cared left as they received a job offer which was better than penrice with higher pay. They have ridiculous rules on calling teachers sir and ma'am as when we get to college we don't need that and they are also limiting our individuality by only allowing one ring and one pair of earrings. I'm only gonna miss 6 teachers out of all the ones who taught me.
Penrice has been a great school for my teenagers. They are quite different in terms of academic ability, but both have been celebrated and encouraged in their own way. They have been given great opportunities to engage in extra curricular activities and to develop their skills in leadership and responsibility.
We cannot thank Penrice academy enough for all the help and support they have given our daughter during her time at Penrice. Our daughter is really sad for her time at Penrice to come to an end, which in itself shows how enjoyable the experience has been. We will not hesitate to send our son to penrice in a few years. Great school who have gone above and beyond.
A fantastic school with a range of subjects and extra curricula activities on offer. I have had 2 children attend this school and both have had a great experience there. My son has received outstanding support from his teachers and the SEND team special educational needs team whilst at Penrice. They worked with us to support him with his GCSEs and find strategies to support him with his learning and revision. He's passed all his subjects and will be going on to study a level 3 at college which at times we were not always sure would happen . I would highly recommend the school to anybody who has a child who needs support, please don't be put off by the size of the school - my sons learning's needs have been met and the staff always go above and beyond.
Penrice has been a brilliant, supportive school and my son has thrived. Lucky enough to have had the best teachers, lots of opportunities and now a great set of GCSE results towards his next adventure in college! Thank you team Penrice!
If i had wrote this at the start of my daughter joining penrice, then would have no doubt been a 1 star review. I can honestly say the turn around in the school since K Adams left is amazing. Staff have supported my daughter though some tough times at the school for this I will always be grateful. Overall there have been ups and downs at this school, but in the last year or so I have seen a great difference! She came out with fantastic grades
If I could give this 0 stars I would. I definitely would not recommend going to Penrice. I went into the school towards the end of year 7 as me and my family moved away from our home because of DV and school knew I had severe anxiety and depression and more things. Still throughout the years they didn’t care!! I was followed by a teacher, Mr Potter, who walked me to my lessons and made me sit away from my friends because I was having a bad panic attack and text my mum and they told me off for it, they said I need to talk to them. I don’t trust them one bit. Also I have been doing online school, but still apart of penrice, due to my mental health. Prom was last night. I wasn’t never told once that I was allowed to go! My mum called school yesterday at 12pm, which it started around 6/7, to see if I could go, which I now know I could’ve, and never got a reply until the next day. Which Ms Gurd replied with ‘’ well she was on the list and I thought she knew ‘’. Then she continued to sweep it under the rug as if it were nothing. Penrice is meant to be excellent when it comes to all students mental health, but they aren’t. I have many more things that have happened at this school, but way too many to write. I wish I never ever went to this school. I’m glad I’ve left :
