Small restaurant with food that you would not normally taste elsewhere. The menu changes frequently and you definitely need reservations. The enjoyable part was in tasting meats that are not common. From the outside and inside too, with bare wooden tables, it looks like nothing much. But the food is fantastic. Two ladies efficiently took care of the service.
A lovely, cosy restaurant. The staff are friendly and happy to answer questions about the menu and offer advice on wine pairings. The food is superb, top notch ingredients and the chef lets them speak for themselves. Rustic, but refined in style with bold punchy flavours, we loved every bite of our meal here. Highly recommended this place, we're looking forward to going back soon.
Fantastic meal at Pea Porridge, the staff were amazing, great reccomendation on wine. Food was stunning all dishes, but particulalry the Quail! and delicious. North African flavours done brilliantly. Make sure that you order the flat breads!!
For wheelchair users: When we visited Sep 2021 they had a ramp, but it is unsafe to use. I have notified the restaurant, but if you intend to visit there I recommend calling in advance and seeing if they have managed to replace their ramp yet before booking - I'm sure their staff will be happy to help! You need to add a note on bookings for a specific table anyway for wheelchairs. We used our own ramps, somewhat marred the experience - otherwise would have been 5 stars! Once IN the restaurant though, food was excellent! We had a brilliant time - everything beautifully and unfussily presented, very generous portions we definitely ordered too much and absolutely delicious! A few dishes slightly salty to my taste, but this was more the dish design itself than the cooking. A great place for a special occasion, but the set lunch menu which some of our table ordered was great value too. Would love to visit again!
Suffolk’s only Michelin starred restaurant… we had to try it. We were not disappointed. Beautiful flavours and amazingly cooked meat and breads. The service was so friendly and chatty too. We had a great time. 100% recommended.

Incredible food in an adorable setting. Worth taking the time to enjoy and not rush through.
First off, reservations required. Delicious food and excellent service, bit drab inside and out but everything else makes up for it. For having a Michelin star, it's very affordable. Local brew, huge wine list and ever changing menu! Flank steak was perfect as was the Ray. We will be back.
This was an amazing restaurant that lived up to its Michelin Star reputation. Very special birthday meal with amazing service. Will definitely visit again.
Wow this is our go to place! Discreet and sublime, the lobster was perfectly cooked, everything on the menu is moorishly mouthwatering it’s so hard to decide what to have. Jurga is just brilliant as front of house so welcoming and personable. The menu is sourced locally as possible or sourced from the highest and finest quality possible. If you are passionate about quality, attention to detail and fine wines then this is for you. Highly recommended booking is essential. Feeling very lucky to have this restaurant nearby!
