Went with a group of friends 8 of us. We all ordered the vegetarian breakfast but when it came out, it was a completely different breakfast. The waitress said the menu had changed in the morning. NOT IMPRESSED. We explained that if the menu had changed, we ought to have been told that at the time of ordering as we could have chosen something else if we wanted to. The new breakfast was not nice at all, my friend's son wouldn't even touch it, he said it looked and tasted horrible. In the end, the chef had to make us want we originally ordered. Even that was sub standard. There was no water in the boiling tea pot, just tea leaves! and the hot chocolate was just about 'lukewarm' chocolate. In the end, they had to give us all complimentary cakes as a way of apology but, in all honesty, we were all too annoyed to enjoy them. Not a pleasant experience, won't be going there again.
Visited today for afternoon tea was not disappointed. The place was very busy but we did not have long to wait before being shown to our table. Several people were having the afternoon tea. The food was really good with a good selection of sandwiches and cakes. The staff were brilliant. Very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. They even refilled our teapot free of charge.a really nice touch. This place is in a good city centre location and is a great asset for Bradford Well worth a visit.
Very poor service and experience. Waited half an hour didn't get served, we stood up and asked a waitress how we order and she said 'we'll come to your table' in a rude passive aggressive manner. It wasn't even busy. 10 minutes later we were finally served and asked for two slices of cake, nothing even needed to be cooked but somehow this warranted a further 15 minute wait. The cake wasn't even good, and we weren't given any cutlery. Worst staff and service I've ever encountered, wouldn't recommend.
Never again. Absolutely wasted time. Me and my wife ordered coffee and cake. After 5 minutes we got coffee but no cake. We waited about 35 minutes for the cake but it was not there. Nobody paid any attention to us. I went to the waitress and asked what our order was and she said she forgot. After a few minutes it brings us a cake. Coffee has long since we drank. So I thanked and said that I only pay for coffee. And take the cake back. Waitress did not even apologize just made a stupid face and went . NEVER AGAIN.
We waited roughly 30 minutes for the PRE-MADE cakes to be brought with our 2 colas and hot chocolate. The cakes are average, nothing special. We ordered the hot chocolate without cream because I can't have cream and they brought it with cream, and it wasn't even neat. Looked like they were stirring it on the go. Wouldn't Recommend.
This review is well over due. Patisserie Valerie is the best coffee shop in the city offering you some where to sit enjoy good chat with a great ambience. I have been using this place for coffee and many choices of teas. It's a great place to meet friends and family. Lovely decor and a great ambience. I always get a warm welcome from the staff- most inviting and I love how friendly the staff are to the elderly . There's always a great choice of cakes which are fresh and again delicious. Many thanks Michelle in helping me choose the cakes and Vicky for the great chat. Love the team love the warm welcome always x
First visit. Husband and I had food from the Brunch menu on a Groupon Voucher which was very good value. Could not fault anything. The young man who served us was very efficient and and helpful. Will definitely be returning.
It was a surprise, the staff was different and very attentive. The caffe doesn't had the birthday cake I received via email , but the staff let me choose any I like for free. Cakes and ice-cream was delicious. Thank you to all kind staff in this caffe.
It’s honestly surprising this particular location of Patisserie Valerie has the rating it does, the service we received was great! The service was speedy, the staff were prompt and efficient with both cakes and drinks, and I can’t understand why it doesn’t have a higher rating. Great staff, great food, everything one would expect from Patisserie Valerie, highly recommend!
Been here a few times and every time is a pleasure! Very European, food is presented nicely and tastes just as good! Waiting time for food and service can vary but what can you expect in a busy cafe/restaurant?
