A large park that surrounds the botanical gardens and has an Abbey at its heart. There are areas with ornamental plants and large trees areas as well. A bit hilly so great views. In April the wild garlic flowers rule!
Nice little park to walk around by the university and hospital Plenty of trials to take and gardens to explore Restrooms: Toilets are sign posted Dog-friendliness: Dogs allowed Picnic area: Picnic benches and plenty of places to sit
Absolutely lovely park, nice and open with plenty of nature to boot and plenty of room to explore, sit and relax. Not to mention for bird watching! Many interesting birds from Ravens to Thrush! The only problem is during/following downfall there can be some areas which become pooled with water due to insufficient drainage methods Dog-friendliness: Plenty of dogs around, just be careful as many owners have off-lead dogs. Picnic area: Whenever the weather decides to be kind it’s a lovely idea! Just beware of roaming dogs!
Swansea has no substantial inner city green spaces, however Parc Singleton, on the South Western edge, is a wonderfully peaceful park, with a mix of mature trees, botanical features, and rewilded areas. The university campus is set into the park, on its southern edge, otherwise it is bounded by urban dual carriageways, and busy roads. You really aren’t aware of this when in the heart of the park.
My wife and I often walk around this park. Plenty of outdoor space with the Botanical Gardens and Ornamental Gardens which have an amazing variety of trees plants etc. Excellent place to help unwind after busy days in the office. We'll worth a visit to unwind Restrooms: Clean accessible toilets
Visited after seeing on a website recommendation of thing to do in Swansea. Great playarea with plenty for young and older children - although was very muddy at parts after previous nights rainfall, and we had two unfortunate slip and slide incidents. Our pedal boats were good and clean - lake was cute but sometimes weeds would clog propellor. Gave our legs a good workout. We passed one family who were climbing the fence and abandoned their boat as it got jammed and stopped working. The team were super friendly and helpful who were working there. Kids loved it overall but I felt underwhelmed by the setting/scenic element from what I expected afyer reading description and pictures on website. Its a small local park next to the University and main road. Felt also the Car Park was costly. We could have stayed longer and done crazy golf, but we didn't because we felt it didnt justify paying the extra time on meter. A pleasant morning with happy memories made.
What a beautiful place, large open spaces ideal for families and people walking their dogs. The Botanical Gardens are well worth a visit.
An ideal place for a family holiday! From playgrounds for children to cosy cafes for adults, there is something for everyone. The pleasant atmosphere and frequent events make this place ideal for spending time with the family
Wonderful place to visit, plenty of open space. Within the grounds there's a Botanical Gardens which was fabulous. I would have spent more time walking around but it was too hot. I was surprised to find the public toilets locked but found a disabled loo in the Botanical Garden
Major park literally on the outskirts of central Swansea. Loads of locals and dog walkers go here for walks and to chill out, plus there are a variety of specific gardens in the park such as the Oriental gardens and the botanical gardens. You can very easily spend a day here in good weather bird and wildlife watching Playground: There is no playground as the entire place is gardens and woods. Restrooms: There are public toilets in the middle of the park by the Swiss cottage. Dog-friendliness: Loads of people take their dogs for a walk here. Picnic area: There are numerous areas where you could have a picnic.
