Absolute terrible! Went out for a meal for 4 and each meal wasn’t great or really eaten! I has asked for the bill to be amended to take 1 main off of the bill, which from the reactions of the so called “Manager” huffing, puffing and moaning about it, The Manager shouldn’t be in a managers roll! wanted to argue the fact that I wasn’t happy with my meal, tried to tell me I had eaten most of my meal ?? Each plate was only half eaten at a push! Meat was more fat than meat! Brussels well under cooked and burnt, green beans hadn’t had there ends chopped off! And undercooked, roast potatoes……… nothing about them was roasted! Well under cooked, Yorkshire pudding! Burnt and flat.. should of been sold as a plain omelet. I was offered more beef after I had moaned about the quality of the beef, I didn’t want to accept the beef, due to being half way through a meal with my friends! And by the looks of the other cuts of beef on my friends plates….more fat than meat I didn’t really want freshly cut fat in replacement from my top side fat. Service from the manager and her attitude towards us was a joke! First impressions of the pub…. Empty! Now I can see why! 3 tables… covered in boxes, flat beer, once again rubbish service. Will never be returning or even recommending to anyone!
We had been here before a couple of years ago and was excellent. This time was a completely different story….service slow and poor, my husband had pork which had to be sent back as it was not cooked. When it came back it was almost all fat. Half a roast potato and carrot and didn’t bring the cauliflower cheese or gravy out! After all this they still wanted to charge 50% for the main meal!!
I could write a long review but I am not, just believe the 1 star reviews the food is that bad. I will take issue with front of house staff they were very pleasant on my visit. If you want good ale in nice surroundings visit, if you want good food avoid like the plaque!!!!
Had a wonderful roast dinner here on Sunday. Food was excellent plenty on the plate cooked to perfection. Service was excellent. Reasonable prices.
AVOID. Terrible food, strangely either extremely overcooked or undercooked. Not vegan friendly as advertised - found a slice of poorly cut , poor quality my dad is a butcher beef in my vegan roast. The landlady is really rude too and called me a nincompoop, unsure what this means but sounds rude and consequently upset me.
Was really looking forward to our Sunday lunch , the place looked nice when we went in but on when looking around our table it didn’t look as if it had been hoovered crumbs on the floor and chairs. When my husbands starter came out it looked very nice but he said it was nearly cold. The main courses were appalling the meat was pink and we asked for it to be well done, the vegetables were raw couldn’t cut anything and the roast potatoes were not roasted also stuffing ball uncooked. All in all a terrible meal, never to be repeated.
Booked a night here as we were going to a wedding.. lovely bedrooms, very clean and staff were very helpful.. there is no parking but there is a car park over the road which is reasonable. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very enjoyable. Would recommend and will be visiting again.
The worst meal I have ever been served! Fish and Chips! The batter was 1/2 inch thick and uncooked in places and the fish inside was mainly uncooked! My wife ate the fish and left the batter as hers was cooked but my father in law and I returned ours. I was then served eggs and chips: just as bad! Eggs were swimming in oil, chips were reheated, recooked and horrible and the peas were dry and some burnt. I can only assume that the lack of guests eating should have sent warning signs and the chef was not trained.
Our favourite place in long sutton every member of staff are lovely, friendly and helpful always happy and a joy to go and visit. They serve great food and a great selection of Ales, the owners are lovely and run a very good place, well worth a visit or make it your localFood: 5/5
Lovely venue with clean comfortable seating area. Very friendly staff. Had to return our soup as was described as vegetable but came out as roughly cut boiled cabbage in water. No seasoning or consistency as you would expect. Looked like cabbage in boiled water. Changed for a sandwich which was lovely. This was let down by the garnish of salad leaves which had no dressing and was dry, brown leaves on one sprig and a clump of slimy leaves that were clearly decomposing. Very sad as the venue and staff are so nice. You Need to employ kitchen staff that understand when food is not acceptable to serve. While we were there a couple also returned their meals . This is the first time I have ever returned food and raised a concern. I am 61 years old eat and out at least twice a week. I have just read similar reviews on this website and would like to encourage the management to sort out the kitchen staff as this could be a very good restaurant that is losing custom and letting the front of house team down through an unacceptable level of kitchen service. Front house staff 10/10 you have got it right.
