Most other reviews say it's either terrible or amazing. The truth is somewhere between the two. The bingo is good, well priced with decent prizes and there's plenty of games going on to take part in. The drinks at the bar are also well priced. The food served is of a low standard, I had a plate of chips that were tepid and basically slung at me from behind the counter. The furnishing varies, some chairs are dirty and most are worn to some degree but there's nothing unacceptable to a reasonable person. Some patrons are rude and shushy of others but this can be ignored if you are talking at a normal level. Overall you can have a fun evening if you don't expect the place to be a shining immaculate everybody wins establishment.
My friend Linda and I visited the 'Palace' last Saturday. We were in London for the weekend. A surprise treat for me , now turned 60. As serious bingo players it was a must . We had heard Patrick call Link games. From the moment we stepped through the door we just soaked up the atmosphere. A warm welcome from Patrick and his staff. Members made us welcone, making sure we knew the order of play. Unfortunately we did not have a big win. Next time we are in London we will definitely be calling in again. But for now it is back to Cardiff -Newport Road
If you really want to win DECENT money this is the bingo to play at. Mecca and Gala do not compare. The cost of your books are reasonable I can even go as far as to say they are CHEAP!! The prize money are incredibly generous, the only thing that lets down this place is the decor and the toilets, it needs a major make over. *THIS PLACE CLOSES 31ST MARCH 2019 FOR GOOD*
This is a great hidden dive of London! Cheap pints and cheaper food make it a great budget night out. The players won't hesitate to shush you so watch out! It's never bothered me and adds to the ambiance. Shush on elderly Londoners I play to win!
I called in advance and spoke to a member of staff who explained as new members me and my friends would get a new members bag with vouchers and some free dabbers... only to be greeted rudely on arrival and told thats not what would happen and membership cards and a voucher would be sent out but they weren't sure when. There was an entrance fee of £1 which is the first club we've been charged to enter. Each member of staff we encountered were unsure of how to set up the machines which in comparison to gala and mecca bingo are extremely under developed. The machines are in metal casing and the furnishing in general were awful. The seats look old and dirty and are small and uncomfortable, the boards for the link games were sticky and hard to slide accross. The one good thing about this club is the prize money which i'm sure is what keeps people coming back. Even the members in the club were mostly not friendly and very loud with one woman blasting a sports programme during the course of the game. Not one member of the group of people I came with said they would return again and we have all visited a few clubs of recent and would visit the rest of them all again except this one. Unfortunate experience and definately not what I was expecting. People blowing whistles and all sorts to claim it was a ridiculous experience.
Very bad experience !!! I have been to this Bingo many times but I never ever won anything!!! And on top of that the books are very EXPENSIVES!!! One day they've sent me a text to wish me "Happy Birthday" and offer me a "voucher" for some free books... But guess what... I wasn't able use them!!! I'd like to thank you for that Palace Bingo!!! My advice there are other Bingo out there where you can have some fun, great food and win some money... I am done with them!!! I am going to the Gala Bingo, I am very happy with them... They treat me with respect and dignity... not like the Palace Bingo!!!! Avoid the Palace Bingo!!! If you can.
RUDE AND RACIST MANAGER BALAZS.. The Palace is a filthy, the staff is unhappy and takes their unhappiness out on customers.. One male staff at the front desk taking admissions is always bad chatting the owner Patrick with customers. Very unprofessional staff. Alcohol and food is expensive. Same customers winning all the time..
Cheap food and drinks making the bingo experience a lot more pleasant. There is always a game to play and the prizes are astonishing! London Bingo Palace is the place to be! I recommend Tuesday as it is complimentary and the books are cheaper
I worked here on a temporary basis for six weeks as a Fruit Machine Mechanic. Whilst it was badly in need of refurbishment I quickly came to realise it was a social hub for the local community including thousands of people. I will never forget the experience and this is just so unbelievably sad.
The only good part is the central location. The staff and costumers tend to be rude. The facilities are run-down. Plus the owner does not seem like a genuine businessman, either. The are better bingo halls out there.
