We sell donated books and music consisting of Vinyl, Sheet Music,CDs and DVDs to fund Oxfam's aims of alleviating poverty and suffering all over the world.

Story

Located in the heart of Stirling's historic city centre, Oxfam Books and Music offers a wider selection of books than most shops, from modern fiction and leisure interest to classics, academic texts and rare or collectable books. We also sell Fairtrade food and greetings cards as well as a range of stationery. We offer a wide selection of ethically sourced products all year round and an enhanced range at Christmas. There is of course also the Oxfam Unwrapped Option where you can make a donation with the capacity to change people's lives which makes an interesting , thoughtful and world-aware gift. Options include 'Books for Schools', ' Care for a Vulnerable Child, 'Train a Businesswoman' and many more. We would love to hear from any school students who are over 16 and would like to volunteer in the Summer hols. Giving three-four hours of your time per week and sharing your skills will enable you to gain valuable experience in retail and you can feel part of a great team whilst generating revenue to help people in the UK and all over the world in crisis. We are specifically looking for people to fill Monday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoons from 1-5p.m. starting in May or June if poss. Even if you can volunteer for only a short period,i.e. the summer hols only, before you go off to Uni or College we will endeavour to come to a mutually advantageous arrangement. Incidentally we hope to shortly be selling second-hand musical instruments.We have an Appalachian Dulcimer and a five string/six peg Banjo whch is over 100 years old currently being researched and will be offered for sale along with several Guitars both accoustic or electric, any time soon. Ideally I would love to recruit a team member who is musically knowledgeable and would be capable of re-stringing guitars etc. If you're interested, even on a short term basis, then please feel free to get in touch.
