I rang to see what I could eat as I am gluten free Celiac the lady was very helpful and kept asking the chef to ensure what I was ordering was ok for me. I ordered a Stir fried beef with fresh mushrooms and egg fried rice, I can honestly say it was the best I have ever tasted, cooked to perfection, the beef was lovely and tender and so tasty and no problems with my stomach. I will definitely be ordering from them again, and so quick to collect.
We order normally about twice a week. Tonight I phoned at 19:15 to be to told they would not deliver to us due to having only one driver, and it was too far. We live just under 4 miles, and it's about a 10 minute drive. I would have picked up, but why should I when they offer a delivery service and there are other Chinese takeaways that would be happy with my money. Shame really won't be ringing again. Also, this has not been the first time we have had a problem.
Have ordered from here before and never had any problems. Always very busy so knew we would have to wait a while. Ordered at 5pm to be told wait is 1 hour. Rang at 7 when food not arrived to be told sorry we’re busy and food will be with you soon. Still waiting at 8pm. Rang back to be told driver had delivered at 5.30. Not to me he didn’t. The girl on the phone clearly didn’t know what she was doing as I told her I wanted my food or my money back. Eventually they sent out a new order which we received.by that point I was so hacked off I didn’t really want the food. Spoke to the driver to try and work out where the food went but he was about as useful a chocolate teapot. It’s a shame cos the food is always top notch but after this experience I don’t think we will be using them again. They need to take on more staff or stop taking orders as they clearly can’t cope with the work load.
Er.. I’m still speechless. They got a simple takeaway order wrong. When I pointed it out, the woman behind the scenes manager? 1: refused to accept they had made a mistake and told me the food was cooked 2: I overheard one of them accusing me of ‘changing my mind’ behind the scenes after pointing out the error less than a minute after paying . Their food is very average and overpriced. Hardly ever review anyone but this was more than awful. Won’t be returning.
Shreded beef was very hard& not good as was the chicken cashew both early bird specials, no good too much rice in them,very disapointing
Good is always freshly cooked and this being our favourite Chinese takeaway this side of Exeter, Plenty of parking directly outside Parking: About 6 parking spaces available but can get congestion during the day easier to park in the evening
1st time getting a delivery from these guys and I 100% recommend,. Even the kids fussy enjoyed, but seriously the food is great I'd definitely recommendFood: 5/5
Excellent food most importantly! Issue with ordering - as I called I was asked to hold, which wasn’t a problem but then I could hear the person take several orders from both walk-ins and the other phone line and I wasn’t spoken to. I hung up and eventually got through again, this time with no delay. On arrival there was a difference in attitude between the two ladies - one happy, smiley and chatty with the younger one not looking like she overly wanted to be there! Still, this didn’t affect the food which was ready in a decent time and tasted excellent. Would definitely go back, but would prefer maybe a happier welcome and more efficient ordering you can tell which one of the two I had serve me!
Food was hot, super tasty, portions generous, and reasonably priced. We had lemon chicken, crispy shredded beef, sweet and sour chicken balls, and chicken chow mein. Heartily recommend them all… so yummy, even for next day leftover lunch. It seems like only dissatisfied people have reviewed recently so we weren’t sure about ordering from here but on Bank Holiday Monday there were limited options so we took a punt on this place and were not disappointed. Might even get from here in future instead of our previous regular. Counter staff were polite on the phone and in person, which is all they need to be, especially on a busy evening! Practical info: they take card for payments over £12 and there’s plenty of short stay parking for collecting.
I ordered a walk-in takeaway on a busy Saturday evening. It was very busy but the staff member was very helpful and apologetic that I had to wait. I confirmed my order and she repeated it back to me to make sure I hadn’t missed anything. I waited just over 20 minutes and went back inside to collect. There are some seats to wait on but as I had only parked outside, it was easier to return to my car. There is space outside for about 6 cars and some more on street parking is available round the corner. My order was piping hot and exactly the quality I’d expect from here. We ordered crispy beef with carrots, Singapore chow mein, egg fried rice and vegetable spring rolls. We finished it all off pigs I know! and no complaints at all. One of my favourite Chinese takeaways in Devon. They do not accept card payments for orders under £12 and whilst this didn’t effect me, I can appreciate it would annoy some people.
