My wife and I visited Ombra on a very hot day, they've got a lovely outside seating area and we managed to sit in the raised area, which had a great view of the canal and surrounding area. The menu was carefully crafted and you could tell a lot of time and thought had gone in to the dishes. This isn't your standard Italian with the usual choices! The staff were very informative with the ingredients and explaining the menu, you could tell they had a real passion for the food. The drinks menu was carefully chosen to compliment the dishes and the rosé was fantastic, as we're the non-alcoholic options. We will definitely be back next time we're in London!
I love this restaurant so much! This is my third visit and it never disappoints. The food is impeccable, the best Italian I’ve had in London. I’m not really into having one big pizza or one big dish of pasta as it gets boring but this is like Italian tapas, lots of small amazing dishes. The service is also amazing and the staff are great at recommending the dishes you’ll like. 5 stars from me everytime .
My boyfriend and I got the “chef chooses” option for £65 pp. The food was incredible the pumpkin dish and burrata were the highlights with the fish spaghetti our least favourite. It was WELL worth it- we were so satisfied and full at the end. Music was great, atmosphere was fun and the staff were super knowledgeable and kind!
What a marvellous diner! The food was so delicious, tasty and vanguard! The staff is efficient, kind and selfless for the client. The manager Ridoi is a great somelier! He is always ready to satisfy every client's request. The wine, which he advised, was fruity and special. The chef Alberto proposes a vanguard Italian cuisine which the Italian tradition is highly evaluated through local ingredients. The music is also impressive and the bar tenders are qualified and smart! The restaurant could offer a special atmosphere for a lovely date!
Came for lunch and quite impressed with an authentic Italian restaurant in East London by the canal area. The starters were greatly tasted - scallops were refreshing and cuttlefish with Black ink sauce. The pastas were alright particularly the tonnarelle which taste like spaghetti. Freshly cooked! Each dish comes separately making a long lunch! Overall I think it’s nice place to eat in for sure for some authentic Italian dish.
I'm shocked how many low reviews this place has. It was like I went to a completely different restaurant. Typically, there's some truth to the negative reviews, but my experience didn't reflect that at all. Food wise, I agree the portions are relatively small, but I thought it was fairly priced for the size and quality. We ordered a few starters including their burrata and their mackerel tartare. My favorite was the tartare - fresh fish complimented by great greens. For mains, we got 2 pastas. We were still a bit hungry, so we ordered another pasta. I was so stuffed, but the table next to us got the tiramisu and it looked delicious. It WAS delicious. It was different than most tiramisus I've had. This one was light, fluffy, and had the perfect amount of coffee flavor. Service wise, our waitress was hilarious! She was knowledgeable about wines and recommended us a great bottle, and was friendly all evening. Atmosphere, it was a trendy small spot with a few tables. Quiet enough to chat, but loud enough to feel like we weren't alone. Overall, a great experience.
Amazing meal. Sat in the sun in the garden and enjoyed the most beautiful burrata dish. Felt like a perfect summer moment. The chef Alberto is incredibly talented and the menu features some really special dishes. Great technique and ingredients. Definitely worth a visit!Food: 5/5
Went here for the £10 lunch deal, pasta and soft drink/coffee. The pasta was decent, next I would probably go for a pasta with a cream base than a tomato base. For the drink, if non alcoholic, I would recommend the Cedrata Baladin. If you go here you have to try the Tiramisu for dessert, it was probably the best one I have ever tasted and was perfectly balanced. The staff were very friendly and service was quick.
We had the tasting menu and it was delicious, the mix of fresh vegetables dishes to pastas or meat was really nice, and sometimes not done well. But here it was lovely. The natural wine was also incredible! Would very much recommend asking the staff about your wine choices as they are quite knowledgeable. Highly recommend :Food: 5/5
While the quality of the food was excellent, I was disappointed with the lack of sides included with the £28 fish dish. At Ombra, you order fish, and only get fish! Wish I had photographed the plate. My mum had to order an additional salad which cost an extra £15.00. This made the dish far more expensive than it should have been. I would have expected the waitress to mention the lack of sides...
