Story

In the heart of Shoreditch at the bottom of the hip Hackney Road, lies a parallel universe. Step through the giant opulent ‘looking glass’ and into a world of decadent debauchery with unique mesmerizing cocktails and eccentric entertainment in a lavish, cosy setting. Here you can expect cocktails that take mixology to a whole new dimension. Think herb infused gin based concoctions served in tea cups, home-made bitters, syrups, and sherbets, all intoxicatingly mixed up with top of the range spirits which are cherry picked from around the world - yum!

This sexy little date spot has such an instagrammable vibe! As in everything is so cute, niche and makes you want to take photos all the time. Plus the drinks are amazing, the bar team is welcoming and the music selection is always on pointService: 5/5

This place has been one of my longtime favorite cocktail speakeasy spots back in the day but I recently visited after not coming for a couple of years and was shockingly disappointed, the servers were extremely disrespectful and rude- we came right at opening time but the staff told us to wait for them to ‘officially’ open for the night and left the two of us waiting outside in the rain while they finished dancing to their Spotify playlist and gossiping. Once inside we had to wait another half an hour to even order then another half an hour for our drinks- despite only 2-3 other people being in the bar??! They seemed to preoccupied flirting with eachother and chatting than working.  We asked to go into the speakeasy portion of the bar behind the mirror once we got in, the server said no and when we asked why, she just rolled her eyes and said it wasn’t open.  Really disappointed they’ve dropped the bar on service and experience, it really used to be a personal favorite and one of the best places to get absinthe cocktails.

Drag bingo was so much fun! Restrictive view, but the lovely performer walked around to the tables! Had a great time. Drinks came fast - excellent service.Food: 5/5

I visited last month with my family friends from Ireland and we stopped by for a couple of cocktails. The team, as always, we a delight. The menus are fantastic, the drinks are delicious and you can also have a boogie on the dance floor behind the mirror if it's not booked for an event!. They loved it and they are well versed in the bar scene back in Belfast.  Perfect for events, a few drinks with friends or for a wee nightcap before bedtime.

This place has the most unique cocktail menu, and you can really feel the staff’s passion for their cocktails. Olesia especially was so enthusiastic, sharing her inspirations for each carefully crafted drink, I need to come back and try all their libations  Plus, behind the mirror is a very cool speakeasy/dance space. Came for a cocktail making class. The venue was nice and cosy, with a great atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very much enjoyed the class and drinks we made. Would recommend a visit to this wonderful place.. they also stock a wide range of unusual spirits that I've never seen in other bars before.  Dietary restrictions: Dairy allergy

I have the pleasure of running Mixer events at Looking Glass every month. After being let down by the service of many venues I have hired I am so pleased I have found this fantastic venue. We use the back room which is spacious and nicely designed. The drink and cocktail selection is excellent and the staff are super attentive and helpful. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful time here the other night! I'd come in for a comedy night a couple years before but this was my first time coming just for drinks. The staff were great and really made me feel like part of the family and at home. Pretty solid drinks menu too, I live nearby so will definitely be coming down again soon.Service: 5/5

Invited a crowd here for my birthday. Had an incredible time and have been several times since! Outstanding drinks, great service and electric atmosphere. The front room is great for catching up with friends, and the secret back room for when you’re ready to party!  If you want to avoid the usual shoreditch crowds and look for unique and quality drinks that are actually worth London prices then this is the place!
