Throughout the whole process of having my Adult Fiction, Fantasy book published with Olympia Publishers, the experience has been nothing but positive. Firstly, it was efficient, and my book went from being a manuscript on my computer to a book. Communication was swift throughout the editing process, and changes were accordingly made whenever I requested them. I’m thrilled with how the book looks and feels - I’m proud! All the staff I’ve had dealings with are friendly and efficient. I did a lot of research into Olympia before signing with them. All I can say is that they’ve been transparent in what they could offer me and have done a brilliant job in delivering on everything too. Thank you all at Olympia for making my dream of having ‘The Fatal Prophecy Vol. 1’ published come true. I would highly recommend Olympia Publishers to anyone interested in publishing their work.
Thank you Olympia for publishing my first book. In the first instance, I contacted several Australian publishers but none were interested because the book has an Australian Flavour. Olympia stepped in and managed my dream! Thank you!
So far I have had nothing but professionalism from Olympia Publishers! Their website made it easy to submit my work and their F&Q section answered most questions that I had about the submission process. Once my work was submitted I received a confirmation email which is great if you worry like I do and I heard back from the team in a timely manner…especially with it being the holiday season. Overall, I am happy with the professionalism of the submission department and their layout of the website, which is a big deal with trying to navigate new territory. Super happy!
I have yet to publish with Olympia publishing company but I think I would really enjoy it. The top dog there is really sincere about the write and knows a good book will sell itself. I have read several reviews on many different services offering to publish books and I am convinced that people have unrealistic expectations about the book. If it doesn't sell well it's the publishers fault. If it does sell well it's the author's great job. For me it comes down to the point of the books ability to enchant the reader. Enchant the reader and the book will sell. Nowhere does word of mouth work best and worst than in publishing a book. Good luck
I Inadvertently queried Olympia , who after a time came back to me with a 'Hybrid' contract which in effect is just a means of accruing funds from desperate authors ! . My reservations are ; Olympia advertise robustly for submissions on Google, as do all vanity presses . No traditional publishers do that ! No legitimate Traditional Publishers would request upfront fees. Olympia accept unrepresented manuscripts which legitimate traditional publishers never do! The Commissioning Editor , Mr Houghton, vigorously asserts that they are not Vanity publishers but Hybrid Publishers but in the final synopsis it is up to the author to decide ! " If it walks like a duck and quacks , it is most likely a duck "
Me and my friend have been scammed big time. It cost us thousands to collaborate on a poetry book together and all we got was £6 each!! We know we had friends and family buy our book so how is it that that was our only profit?! We were also told they would promote and advertise our book which they never did, they never said it was only going to be a online book as that's where it's the only place you can buy it, it's not even in the stores.
I ordered a book on the 28th of October, which never arrived. It was a short story written by a lovely friend and was going to be an early Christmas present for my daughter. It is now the 11th December. I emailed after 2 weeks, and they said it had been sent and they would send me another, I still never received it! I sent further emails to which no one replied, and despite asking for a full refund, this also has not materialised, and still no one answers my emails! Absolutely disgraceful service! I would give NO stars if that was an option!
Signed a hybrid contract back in December 2021 for a children's book. Since that date, I have proof to back up all my statements here that the services provided by Olympia Publishers has not been professional. Multiple times my book was submitted for my review with parts of the text missing and proof reading errors! And even the front and back cover layout proposal was missing text, the font choice was disappointing too and there were images added that resembled ones taken right out of a powerpoint icon library. Also, despite my repeated requests, Olympia is still refusing to provide any input from their marketing department so that the back cover blurb can be adjusted according to the target audience! Will they be marketing it to the education sector or to families or both ? I still don't know. Furthermore, I had to call Olympia to find out why my production coordinator wasn't answering me for weeks. To my surprise, he had left the company and no one informed me ?! And as if that isn't enough, it's been a week and as of today his replacement isn't answering me either, despite my emails to remind her to answer. I couldn't be more disappointed with Olympia Publishers, am literally at wit's end and at this point would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone. Update August 5 2022. Still no response to any of my phone or email messages or any communication of any kind either from the production manager, or the person I was told was the owner of the company. My frustration and angst is very high.
My book was publish on 26th January 23 placed on all various websites my gripe is most of the website only publish images of your book but no synopsis and for me a synopsis sells a book. Apparently Olympia publishers have responded back that is down to the wholesaler. Waterstones have done one better no synopsis and no image of my book even I wouldn't be purchase a book without any information let alone no image. Olympia agreed there should at least be an image of my book cover and have contacted Waterstones who in return are in no hurry whatsoever regarding my book. and Olympia are also in no hurry in pursuing this on my behalf unless I keep on badgering them. I shouldn't be the one chasing! As they Waterstones are more interested in more well known authors who have war and peace etched with their synopsis giving it all the stars and spangles when it will sell without any synopsis. and also my book isn't actually on any shelves of any bookstores. I'm not looking for a best seller but do feel left out when well know authors are giving a platform which is all and and good but I do think, wholesalers, publishers, bookstores should equally give new authors a chance also.
