Every time I go, I find many new cakes that look delicious. I have tried an amazing chocolate cake. Orange almond cake was so good and tender. Falafel wrap was so good and creative. Prices are medium. The stuff are so friendly. The place is so cosy and relaxing.
just a review of the cafe: - walking in from the bookshop, smell of books fades to a small but bustling little cafe area with plenty of sunlight - drinks are a bit pricey, but they are large. the iced coffee and the turmeric tonic were £4.50 each. the turmeric tonic was very good. fruity, sweet, and refreshing. - they dont allow outside food which was a bit annoying they informed me in a sorta rude way so bumping down a star
One of the best in London. There are so many editions about the Germany poet Paul Celan and you can also find a lot good poetry and fiction here.
This was by far one of the best book stores I have ever been to. It has a phenomenal collection of books. I often struggle to find books about science that aren’t of the pop-science type. No lack of them here. They carry great quarterly publications, books by Verso publications and a great section on contemporary politics. 10/10 recommend to any book nerd. Also, they have restrooms if you’re looking for one in the area. Always a plus side.
One of the most decent bookshops in central London, both in scope and range of the books. It is possible to be stuck here for a while because of the cozy atmosphere and interesting books. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as to the literature and bookselling, obviously. Apart from a large range of fine literature and non-fiction, the shop also offers a wide variety of books on different studies, from Classics and Philosophy to Psychology, Architecture and Physics.
Absolutely one of my favourite coffee shop in London. It's mainly a bookshop but it's always a plus when they have a cafe. Very peaceful place to sip a coffee and read a book. It's just near to British Museum.
Nice bookshop. The cafe has a very pleasant outdoor courtyard where you can read in peace.
I bought a eco bag today to give it to my family in my home country, and the lovely staff wrapped it so beautifully. She made my day!
1.5 stars for the café. 4 stars for the bookshop. Service is okay but the cakes and pastries are very dry and stale. I would not recommend the drinks at all. Not much space in the café so would not recommend for more than 2 friends at a time. The bookshop is very well organised and has a wide selection. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, I definitely recommend having a browse of the bookshop as it is quite unique and interesting. Hopefully, the café will see some improvements.
Lovely bookstore with a nice cafe, perfect for book, cake and tea lovers. Helpful staff with very good recommendations
