The cafe was quite parse and could be more comfortable and inviting. Run by volunteers, it was clean, but in need of some further care and decoration. It was friendly enough, but not very 'smiley', and there was a limited food offering. What was on offer was good. Nice cakes and toasted sandwiches. An evolving place that has hopes of improvement. Dogs welcome here. Definite plan in place to come again in the spring and summer months. Kid-friendliness: A table of plastic toys in one corner would suggest that kids are welcome here
Five stars, my friends and I go every week! All the ladies are fab, they love a laugh and can't do enough for you. Catering is lovely. Also dog friendly.
Great place to visit. Food, drinks and volunteer staff are all excellent. Friendy greeting, lovely scones, cakes and snacks, including some hot food at lunchtime and cream teas, with quality coffee and tea served using pretty bone China crockery. Butter in little dishes, rather than those awful sachets. Can sit outside and look over the gardens. Dog friendly too! A perfect place to stop at and enjoy when on a stroll around the lovely grounds of Oldway Mansion, now being lovingly cared for by the volunteer group, who also run a Plant Stall and Tea Hut. The great thing is that all proceeds will help towards restoring the historic house, so a win win situation. Do visit to enjoy and spend some money, there is also a selection of books, postcards, etc to buy.
Lovely family lunch. Really tasty toasties and panini's and delicious cakes and flapjacks. Couldn't fault anything and all run by volunteers. We will definitely be back when it's warmer to try the milkshakes and icecreamsFood: 5/5
All the council responsible for letting this fantastic building and grounds go should be ..... they tried to.offload to a make a hotel. Failed... So glad it's getting a little bit of TLC. Need a crowd funding site for this along with the pavilion. Take it fully out of incompetent council hands. Love to see it restored. The interior is fantastic but again council let it go so you can't see now. Well worth a visit. Fab cakes and ice cream. Nice for a cream tea or high tea.
Lovely little place friendly staff clean well laid out small selection of food but fresh and delicious. Fantastic selection of cakes to go withFood: 5/5
Lovely place to stop by for coffee and cake in fantastic surroundings. Totally run by volunteers they do excellent light lunches and cream teas for a great cause.
Having been walking around oldway for many years and always been tempted to use the cafe, we decided to give it a try today. I must say what a loverly place to enjoy a cream tea and scone! The staff who are volunteer's are very friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. It's a really nice idea from a small space on the now run down oldway mansion. Keep up the good work ladies.
They do a brilliant fund raising job. An enjoyable venue.Food: 5/5
No website or menu online that tells you that you have to prebook afternoon tea, wasted journey that doesn't make much business sense.
