Visited twice for an evening meal. Menu was a bit limited but the food was good. The winner for me was the cider available, Rosie's Pig, a still lovely refreshing pint. The welcome from the staff was great and top marks go to young Alfie who was serving food and clearing tables. Well spoken and polite and a credit to have serve us. We left a tip just for him to.
A pub just how we like it! Honest food and drinks, friendly service and easy to get to. Not one of these pixilated wannabees! Had burgers, fish&chips and such. Everything was served quickly and was tasty, too. Great to see places like this are still around. Thank you for a lovely diner.
Lovely place in a great location. Warm welcome from the lovely hosts. Excellent bar selection. Carvery was exceptional with a great choice of meats and fresh veg. Home made desserts were incredible. Cannot reccomend enough! Staff friendly and helpful.Rooms: 5/5
One of the best Sunday Carverys I've had in the area. Wide range of nicely cooked veg, roast potatoes, pork with crackling, all local sourced. Desert menu looked nice too, but alas, no room left. Friendly and attentive service too. What's not to like?
We booked here for a carvery on new year's day, a party of 8 plus a dog. The staff we very friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent, everyone enjoyed it, my husband said it was the best he'd ever had. Would definitely eat here again, excellent xService: 5/5
It was a last minute mid week booking in July but no problem getting a room. Room clean, bright and airy with a comfy double bed. Good food menu and ale and great service plus full english breakfast. Definitely recommend Rooms: Big bright and airy with a beautiful sunset view.
Visiting the area to see family recently. We had dinner. The whole family commented on the excellent food and friendly service. The locally made pie that one of us had looked especially good. We will be returning soon!Service: 5/5
We popped in for a drink and looked at the menu. The barmaid asked if we were eating and I said no , as I thought the food was expensive.I am entitled to an opinion. Oh ! My goodness, that rattled a big snake. She suddenly was not the happy bunny we'd started off with. When I paid for the drinks I offered an olive branch and said I didn't want to offend but money is tight. Once again she turned very defensive. Glad we didn't spend our hard earned there.
Excellent food. Great menu. Friendly staff . Pool table . The locals don't bite. Food & drinks: Good selection. Pie was a real pie. Pastry bottom. Yum.
We were a very large group that booked a week in advance. We had a great time seeing as we didn't give them a preorder of food. We all enjoyed our meals and will go back again.Location: 5/5
