One of Stratford Upon Avon’s most historic landmarks, The Old Thatch Tavern is a beautiful Grade II listed pub dating back to 1470. The oldest pub in town, it stands as Stratford towns only remaining thatched building. Inside is traditional pub fayre, exceptional ales and service.
If you’re in town to visit the sites of Shakespearean Stratford, you couldn't find a more convenient spot for respite and refreshment than The Old Thatch Tavern. The pub is just 300 yards from the Bard’s birthplace, right at the historic heart of town.
Proud to serve local Stratford produce, we get all our meat from our nearby butcher. Deliciously fresh, with a short journey from field to plate, it makes for the finest carvery in town. Join us on a Sunday to savour it for yourself.
With the exception only of chips and bread, all our food is freshly homemade on the premises. Choose from a seasonal menu of traditional dishes, plus hand-baked cakes and biscuits.
