Such a gem. Beautiful tearoom and garden. A wide selection of cakes and lunches at reasonable prices. Will definitely visit again.
Stopped off for some tea and decided to try the Tradional Cream Tea and WOW!! we were stunned at what arrived. Firstly a tea set of Royal Albert and a giant teapot no piddly little pot here and then this feast arrived!! Four different types of sandwich, TWO cream scones each, lemon drizzle cake and two Tiffins, everything home baked as well, it was delicious, there was so much we got a doggy bag and took what we could fininh home with us. I couldn't recommend the Old School House highly enough, do not miss this gem tucked away in this little village.
Visited this afternoon with my mum to try the afternoon tea, owners were very friendly and accommodating. The food was really nice too, was a lovely place. Glad we gave it a try
Fantastic place to go for a drink, a light snack, or something bigger and more wholesome. Delightful location in the very pretty village of Abbotsbury, this independent teashop is just wonderful. Full of character and charm. Its not the biggest of places, and at busy times you might well have to wait for a table. Parking can be a little tricky - the poor village does suffer from a bit of a problem with the volume of passing-through traffic in the, at times, narrow streets. We were lucky to park directly outside, though there is a pay and display carpark on the Eastern end of the village Abbotsbury Car Park, just off Rodden Row, which is the B3157. Definitely recommended.
A wonderful tea room, very clean and pleasant with a nice garden area for the good weather. The staff are friendly and helpful, the options on food and teas/coffees are great. I had a mug of coffee, with option of hot or cold milk. I had soup of the day which was wonderful, sandwiches with Granary bread, but could have had wholemeal or white. Later I went back for tea and homemade scones, the best I have had for a long time. Very highly recommend.
Our usual place was closed so we popped in to the Old School House. What a lovely place , the Staff were welcoming and friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our food. The sandwiches were fresh and well presented with a lovely salad and it was reasonably priced. Everything was served on bone china and the place had a nice atmosphere. Will definitely go again.
Lovely little tea shop. I treated my mum to afternoon tea in the charming courtyard. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were all lovely. The couple running it strike just the right balance of friendly attentive service and time to chat, without being intrusive. On learning it was mum’s birthday they even produced a candle and sang happy birthday to her. Perfect.
Lovely cafe and lovely people. We only had half an hour before our bus back to Weymouth and there was no problem getting us tea and cake in that time. Lovely Victoria Sponge :
Nice coffee & cakes, friendly staff. Also a great English village, thatchers at work.
A quaint little tea room. Polite service and a well presented room, clean and quiet. The sandwiches we ordered was lovely, the tea was done with tea leaves not a tea bag which was a nice touch
