We stayed for 2 nights and the room was lovely and warm despite the -3 Deg outside. Accomodation is very spacious but could benefit from better lighting especially in bathroom. Fridge is a welcome touch but it takes up room in wardrobe. Meals were excellent. Breakfast very tasty and filling. Evening meals were especially good. A little radio or background music at breakfast would be nice. Also didn't like standing outside in the cold at check in time. Pub is closed till 5pm and before this time you have to phone to be let in. Just a little gripe but all in all an enjoyable stay. PS We had to report that that the bathroom light fitting was hanging down from the ceiling. This was not fixed by the time we left. Hopefully it will be soon before it falls down
Great place to eat, the burgers are awesome. Sorted us out with a larger table for a birthday party. Super friendly staff. Very family friendly. Will be visiting again soon.
We booked a family celebration here recently. Joe looked after us and took our orders for drinks/food. We were in the Conservatory and were able to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. My chicken/bacon/Wensleydale Cheese sauce dish was absolutely delicious. Other family members were well satisfied with their wholesome respective meals. We were in different family groups and when it came to settle our Bill, Joe sorted it out smoothly and efficiently. Service was great. We would definitely return here if we in the area again. Noteworthy details: I phoned previously to check out all would be well for my.dauvhter's birthday. I wanted it all to go smoothly. And it did. Many thanks to Charlotte and Joe who took care of us all admirably.
Had a lovely meal at the Old Oak Tree. Staying in nearby Thirsk it was our first visit. The pub was very busy for meals but the landlady fitted us in at short notice. The food was excellent and reasonable prices for the size of the generous portions. It does a variation of vegitarion dishes and has a good special board to go with a large menu. The staff are all very friendly and efficient. The pub and toilets are very clean and it has a good sized carpark . Didn't stay but they have chalet type accomodation in the outside court yard. Would advise booking so not to be disappointed .
My partner and I stayed this last weekend for one night and had breakdfast in the morning. The rooms were lovely and the breakfast was smashing! My only note is that the bathroom was super warm I dont know if this was even something we could control but I really can't knock it all, we would love to come back.Rooms: 5/5
A lovely early mother's day lunch with the family. Kind and attentive waiting staff..wonderful food from an extensive menu. Very enjoyable thank you. Food & drinks: Fabulous menu and food.
Me and my partner and his dog stayed in the courtyard the room was super cute, very. The pillows on the bed were either lumpy or hard next time I'm going to take my own the staff and the service was spot on I'd definitely recommend the place xxxRooms: 5/5
Visited with parents and had 3 courses. Absolutely fantastic food and was perfectly cooked. Refreshing to visit a pub for pub food but done to restaurant standards!Rooms: 5/5
Called in for lunch following a friend's recommendation and were fortunate to get a table for two as it was very busy on Tuesday lunchtime. Very friendly staff, dog friendly for our cockapoo and we both were delighted with the steak and ale pie for me whilst my wife had a wonderful lasagne - both piping hot and extremely tasty. Too full to try the desserts but would definitely recommend it if your in the area - we had travelled from Saltburn and now considering calling again for Sunday lunch which had a great choice of main courses and fully aware we need to book as it's no wonder they are so busy
Very pubby place, but food excellent, although we did have to wait a time for our meals to be served. Staff friendly and helpful.Service: 4/5
