What more fitting a place to find a pub than in a genuine old brewery? This one used to be Maclays Thistle Brewery and dates back to the 19th century. It's a history reflected in the displays of old bottles behind the bar and in wall cabinets, as well as in architectural features such as the high sloping ceiling. Along with the mezzanine level, it makes for a pub full of character, popular with a mixed crowd of students, workers from the nearby council offices, families, football fans and older regulars - pretty much anyone who enjoys a friendly welcome and a Belhaven Best.
