Lovely castle to explore and also a great place to sit and watch people horse riding and people walking across the stepping stones, or in our case when we were there, some idiot in a range rover Parking can get very busy at times. Highly rate this castle ruin and surrounding area, I've been coming here for 50 years plus. Parking very limited and caution with the tides as the car park area can get flooded. Great fun crossing the stepping stones, be careful seen many over confident take a dip lol. If you cross the stones it's worth taking the short walk to Merthyr Mawr village a chocolate box come Agatha Christie delight. Back to the castle, great for a picnic the kids can run wild and there's a pub across the road.

Wandering around Ogmore castle ruins and trails was a lovely chilled out afternoon out for all the family. Strolled around the ruins, crossed the stepping stones and walked the footpaths to the beautiful Merthyr Mawr with its stunning chocolate box thatched cottages. Finished the afternoon with a huge slab of cake at the garden centre in Ogmore village! Perfect!

Beautiful castle ruins on the banks of the Ewenny River. The property is looked after by Cadw but is not staffed so you can visit anytime, and it is particularly enjoyable to visit early on a sunny morning. There is a small car park on site and some historical information display boards in the grounds. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Beautiful place to visit. The castle ruin was larger than expected. Free to look round.There's a very small free car park next to the castle about 5/6 car spaces and stepping stones, down a very short narrow road.

Actually the castle is already ruined and just a little bit is left. No ticket needs for entry to the castle. Parking is availble. Even if the castle is ruined the view is fantastic. Castle is situated near to river and you can find stepping stones throgh the river to cross it when there is low water level. More people came here for sight seeing, dog walk, and horse riding. If you cross the river and walk around you can find a hanging bridge as well. River is not deep and its an amazing place to have photoshoots.

Nice little castle ruin, not that big but a nice little place, and nice Walks, you can go over the river, across the swing bridge and up to candleston castle, nice little walk, nice place for a picnic.

Lovely free afternoon. We explored the castle then went over the stepping stones for a walk. Beautifully kept.
