Called into OB Spoons for the last pint of our drive around the roads and lanes and hostelries of Cleckheaton with like minded friends. Good range of beers on offer and pub filled with diners. We were only drinking with a playe of chips for the youngun in our mix, so cannot speak for the food, but there were plenty of people waiting to eat.
One of the better Whetherspoons I’ve experienced. A great atmosphere, with great staff, great food, and great prices.nnWhen in Cleckheaton for training I’ve been here on many evenings for food and drinks. There’s always a good crowd in from all backgrounds.nnThe prices are weird such as £2.31 a pint etc, but just shows how low they try to keep them. Personally I’d rather they rounded them up so less coppers kicking about!nnFood served quickly and also really competitively priced. I got the 3 plates for less than £15 and they’d definitely be enough to share. The spicy pizza was very good, as were the loaded fries, and the chicken strips. Literally couldn’t eat it all.nnThe front beer garden is also ideally located and great for sunsets.
A lovely place as always. Service ok, but nothing special....beer ok, place not the tidyest, but then again it was Friday night!!!!
The Obediah Brooke is our local Wetherspoons. We live in Cleckheaton and it’s alway our favourite place to come and eat good food and enjoy inexpensive drinks in a very nice place. The staff are always courteous and friendly. It has a good sized outside area and two storeys of tidy inside area. There’s plenty of free parking over the road next to the town hall.
Kitchen service is pretty terrible at the best of times. I worked for this wetherspoons as bar/floor staff myself in 2011 and it was never as poor as it is now. Not been the same since a certain kitchen manager left!nnAnytime I go my food order is missed or forgotten and it is always this wetherspoons. Very disappointing to see how poor this place has become.
