My little dog sadly needed 13 teeth out last week. All the staff at oakroyd vets Wibsey were so kind and caring. They took great care of my little dog and futher appointments after this to check her mouth were done with the greatest of care. Lovely staff, thankyou.
I took my cat here on Friday, the vet did basic checks, including checking her heartbeat, looking in her mouth and temperature, which was high. She prescribed her antibiotics, and put it down to a bacterial infection. My cat was still not well the day after, so I took her to PDSA, straight away, they picked up on the fact her heartbeat was fast and her gums were white and straight away took blood and scanned her chest and heart. Why did your vet not pick up on the fact my cats gums were white and her heartbeat was fast? It turns out my little cat has severe anemia possibly caused by an auto immune disease or leukaemia. I paid £111, for them to do nothing. Do not take your beloved pet here. They will fail them! I will be taking it further
Horrible experience this morning. The female vet, Maria, upset me with her comments about my 5 month old German Shepherd. She tried to examine him and he picked up on her body language and became distressed. He bared his teeth to her and she referred to him as a nasty breed of dog! He has never done this to anyone before and is great around people and other dogs. The room she was in smelt very strong of perfume. I believe this added to my dogs distress. She didn't attempt to befriend him and dived straight in, standing over him and going towards him, which I believe made him feel threatened. She was patronising towards me and rude when discussing my pets treatment. This is the first time attending the surgery that I have left feeling angry and upset. Bad manners, bad attitude, overall quite a horrible person. She needs to take direction from the rest of the staff, who have always been wonderful. Definitely won't be seeing her again and feel sorry for any unfortunate pet that is unlucky to be seen by her!
Didnt fill out required paperwork... sent it to me over email.. a scanned copy... that tgey wanted me to fill out and rescan back to them... that wasnt possible for me so got billed the entire amount... i woudnt go here if u have are eligible for a voucher for spaying... unprofessional
Recently got cat and only wanted to get my cat neutered, they said the consultation is free and the surgery would be when I would pay, instead we could not go ahead because of an eye infection and some extra stuff treatment and medication which was very expensive along with the chargeable consultation which they said did not cost. But i was fine with as I just wanted to make sure he was healthy. I went back a while later after his treatment and he seemed happy and healthy, nothing looked obvious but they said hes improved but still cant be neutered as he needs further treatment which I was curious about as the home vets said he was fine after his 2 vaccinations. Flee and worm treatment. But any who I thaught atleast hes showing progress so lets go with it. A few weeks after that I went back and suprise suprise hes still not ready and needs more treatment and medication. At that point I just went to another Vets who said he was healthy and ready for Neutering the following week. I know these thiefs wont refund back either, I wont be going back to this place and I dont recommend this place either. It used to be good years back.
We took our cat for her 6 months diabetic check. The vet she saw was excellent with her, she gets very scared going to the vets, she is an indoor cat. But the vet was careful and kind with her. She is going on fine, so back in 6 months. I have used this vets for many years and have always found them fair, reasonable in price, staff are mainly brilliant just one or two need some people skills otherwise an excellent team. They do their best to help fit you in to appointments that suit you. Only down side is they are not keeping pets at the hospital since the pandemic which is a shame for owners who don't drive!! Halifax is a long way. I'm hoping this will be back ASAP. Excellent vets, I definitely recommend
I love my vets so much, they are wonderful with my pets, I never have any complaints. I recommended them to my friend who is registered with them and the staff are all very friendly and nice. Always do their very best.
They gave my kitten the right treatment however, as I am new pet owner they weren't very clear as to flea and worm treatments. As my pets had fleas and worms they simply handed me the medication and told to just simply put it on his skin above his shoulders. They never explained how long the medication will take to work etc. Other than that the other staff members were great they took my kitten in so he didn't feel cold or have to wait outside for his 1st visit.
Slowest reception staff I have seen in my life. I have just waited 25 mins to be served at reception just to tell them I have arrived. And I only had one person ahead of me in the queue. The vets seem really nice and helpful. The waiting room is so narrow and some of the smaller animals are traumatised by the larger animals that tend to turn in them. I hate taking my pet there when waiting. I am not sure the last time the floor was cleaned in reception. Your feet make that sound as your feet peel of the floor. The attached pic shows what I mean.
We have used the vets before and they were fantastic we couldn’t speak highly enough of them however.. We went with Freddie so we could get his boosters we took the papers we got from his adoption from a registered rescue we arrived in loads of time then we were half hour over our appointment time we were met with a rude Greek lady who insulted my mother by calling her a silly woman because she thought we had him brought over from Greece with a medical issue this happened weeks ago but we are still angry about her attitude it’s not her place to pass comment everything was on his paper work so obviously wasn’t a issue if we get this vet again we will be asking to see another one
