First time at this venue for Three Days Grace.nThe line outside was very large and I wasn't aware there's more than one line to get inside depending on if you're standing or on the Balcony, luckily a member of staff pointed this out and we made our way to the other line.nOnce inside we got drinks easily and it wasn't overcrowded on the balcony. Overall had a great time.
Attended the O2 for The Plot In You concert and it was amazing! No arena parking available, but there are several car parks around you can use. The closest is a 2 minute walk. The stage area is fairly big with standing and balcony seats available, and there are 2 bars you can use. Decent venue for gigs if you're in the West Midlands
The O2 Academy in Birmingham is a well known venue for seeing shows, with a central city location making it easily accessible by car or train. Parking can be busy in the city so I recommend planning your parking in advance but there is plenty of choice. The venue itself isn't especially large and if you're less than six foot tall I'd recommend buying tickets in the stalls not in the main standing area. The venue is well managed and it's recommended as a great location to see a show on a fun night out.
I attended a concert on Saturday and felt compelled to leave a review because the security on the night was genuinely outstanding, especially the security guard on barrier Kev.nnI have been to many concerts over the years, and I can honestly say I have never seen a security guard look after the pit area the way Kev did. He was checking in on people, making sure everyone was okay, constantly offering water, and doing it all with such a friendly, welcoming attitude. Instead of the typical stern security presence, he had a warm smile and approachable manner that instantly put people at ease. He is a true credit to the venue and an absolute asset to the security team.nnI also want to highlight that other security guards I encountered on the day were fantastic. From the staff managing the queues during the day, to those covering entry into the venue, everyone was professional, organised, and kind. We queued all day, and even then, security regularly came out to check on us, which made such a difference and didn’t go unnoticed.nnMeeting the artist at the end of the night topped the whole day off for me, and once again, it was very well managed by security. Everything felt calm, controlled, and safe.nnThe entire day and night was incredibly well run. The only thing that could have been better was if the barriers were put out earlier by the entrance, or make it clear where people need to queue as there was about 7 queues which was really confusing!nnThank you all for an amazing night and exceptional work, especially Kev, who went above and beyond.
Good music venue, two rooms. One with a balcony, which is better if like me, you need to sit down. However the second room has nowhere to sit, standing only, which can be a little awkward. Drinks are the usual mega expensive, so don’t be tempted to really drink, unless money isn’t a difficulty. First in the Queue for seats, none reserved, but they do let disabled in first for that reason. Sound quality good, and overall, a good venue.
