Story

A brand new concept in pub dining - reopened after a complete refurbishment in late Spring 2011.
The Nurseryman offers a mouth-watering value-for-money menu of favourite dishes, expertly cooked and served in a fun, friendly atmosphere. There is full table service in the restaurant, or pop in to the pub area for a pint and something to eat. Wherever you are, you can look forward to a comfy setting in which to enjoy the great food, cask ales and fine wines we have on offer. Just stopped here on way from Derby to Nottingham, the service and food absolutely brill, It's lovely and clean and friendly. Had a great lunch thank you.nFreddy enjoyed it too !
On first appearances the pub is a lovely place, clean and well kept. Staff seem friendly on arrival and have positive altitudes. Drinks are standard. I’m not sure if it was just us but me and my partner had a mixed grill and steak, steak was slightly over done and everything on the mixed grill seemed dry and flavourless. Honestly the only thing I enjoyed was the sausage and the chips which were disappointing for the price we paid. No one bothered to ask how the meal was during or after we had finished just took the plates away. Which I was surprised about because all staff seemed nice on first impressions. Also made a complaint via the green king website and had no response. Think I will start avoiding green kings unless recommended by more people.
Honestly this place has one of the best burgers I've had its absolutely delicious, the food here us great quality with reasonable prices.nnHowever, the service we got here was unpleasant, passive aggressive and just blatant rude today. Maybe we came on an off day, but that's still no excuse in my opinion.nnAlso, this pub should be giving out student discounts as its part of greene king pubs, however they refused to do so. So not only not student friendly, but also false advertisement on their website. Hope they sort this issue out because honestly love the food.
We've never been here before, so was not sure what to expect.nWas greated by friendly bar staff and sat with our drinks in the bar area.nAfter seeing the wonderful array of food pass us by on the way to the restaurant area we decided to ask for a table to eat. This was not a problem, all the staff were so helpful and polite.nOh wow, I'm glad we did eat here. This was by far the best pub food we've eaten in a long time.nDefinitely on my must go again list.
Ate here as part of a large group 18 people and very impressed, food was of a good standard and served very promptly given the number of people, all hot and 100% correct. Was particularly impressed with Chloe who was a delight, very helpful, and happy to deal with all the requests we each had from food to payment. Highly recommended.
