I think the Nuffield Cwmbran is a wonderful place, it has helped my mental relaxation and physical health immensely over the years. The friends and family pass is a thoughtful scheme -I just spent a lovely afternoon with my sister who lives a distance away swimming and relaxing together. We both really enjoyed it.nnI hope it remains open for years and years ,it’s so important to me . I love the swimming pool , hydro pool and sauna in particular. Everyone who works there does a fantastic job and I always feel so welcome. Thank you all.

Fantastic place for a spa day. After purchasing 5 gym and swim passes through Wowcher for myself & my husband at £14.99 each, we were very pleased with the service we had provided for us, very friendly & approachable staff as you enter the building. In my opinion it was worth the £14.99 each for one visit let alone 5.nnThe changing rooms are immaculate offering a swim wear drying facility, they also have GHD hair dryers for you to use which is a nice added touch, they have shower gel provided in the pumps on the wall in the showers which is also nice, all you need to bring was your own towel & padlock for the lockers, I brought a numbered pad lock with me so I didn't have to take the key with me into the pool area or the gym. But if you did need a padlock you can buy them from reception at £6 or they will lend you one on your first day.nnThe swimming pool was nice and warm, there was a section of the pool closed off so the lane swimmers could get their laps in leaving a nice space for everyone else to do their own thing, to the side of the swimming pool you have the sauna, steam room & jacuzzi, the jacuzzi is the best one I've been in by far, my only problem was I would of liked to have a lounger to lie on so I could read a book as myself & my husband wanted to stay a little longer  as we were in no rush to leave, there was two chairs there but it wouldn't feel the same sat there reading a book I wanted to lounge around  fantastic & spotless facilities here, only problem was that on day 3 of our passes the steamroom was out of order but by this day we have had our money worth.nnThe gym, fantastic range of machines, there is a working lift available if you can't manage the stairs, also in with this voucher we could add on to any classes that were taking place subject to availability which was nice but we didn't require this though, with cardio day it was a little difficult to use the exercise bike as there was only one available, some equipment was a little out dated but all in good use.nnMy overall opinion is that this place is good value for money & if another offer was to come available myself & my husband wouldn't miss the opportunity to visit again.

Staff are so lovely, PTs are even more lovely! Really can’t fault the staff however the facilities are embarrassing. If you are the type of person that loves a classes and cardio then this is the place for you. I would recommend not going here if you primarily do weight or hyrox type training.nn- Equipment is very outdated, no 5kg or 10kg bumper plates so prepare to break your back if you can only manage a 40kg deadlift.nn- The water fountain has been out of order for at least 5 weeks.nn- There is always at least one piece of equipment out of order or not working in some way.nn- I’m told by members that equipment hasn’t been updated for about 8 years if not longer.nn- The steam room is mouldy, I’m not convinced it’s ever treated/cleaned.nn- Changing rooms do not have a private changing area. In the women’s, they do have a flimsy curtain in the corner of the changing room that is see through and often slides open. So if you’re someone who is not comfortable getting naked infront of others, this wouldn’t be ideal.nn- I complained about the leg extension pad being unstable for 5 weeks before it was repaired.nn- The entrance gates, where you swipe your members card, works 30% of the time.nnIt’s such an expensive amount to be paying for a gym, classes, pool, sauna and steam room for the facilities to be so outdated and unclean. I don’t like to say it but it really is embarrassing. I wanted to write this review in case anyone who goes for a show around isn’t sure so to be aware of the above. This gym is absolutely perfect for those who like cardio, classes and basic weight training.nnThe staff there and also members are perfectly friendly and really can’t fault them so this review is not anyway about staff performance

It depends on your demographic if you  love classes the gym is for you. If you love treadmills this gym is for you. The lack of weight equipment both free weight and machine is dire. The pool is nice but lots of classes occupy the pool so always check the schedule. The sauna is the only redeeming quality the staff are nice but the price doesn't justify what you get. I will be cancelling my membership once JD Opens as the gym hasn't improved in years and arguably gotten worse as membership numbers and prices rise.

The staff and people there are nice but the book in my opinion is way to shallow and small also most of the time half of the pool is being used for lessons.
