The gym has nearly 4000 members and they still are trying to get more!! Unfortunately the gym floor equipment is very old and tired with many cardio and weight training equipment in disrepair, in fact if 40 people were in the gym it would be rammed to capacity and people would be standing around waiting to use equipment.. which just shows the greed of this supposedly charity organisation it’s disgusting the male changing rooms are freezing cold even when the outside temperature is just above zero they still have the air conditioning on , total waste of money and energy the changing rooms have wet floors constantly and the shower areas can be dirty and very slippery on occasions. They have leaking sinks and urine residue on the toilet floors the temperature of the sink water is tepid at most so washing your hands and shaving is definitely not hygienic. The steam room is great but people do complain about the temperature being too low in the sauna! Now when I joined the small pool was called a hydro pool Nuffield has changed the name to a vitality pool so that they can turn the temperature down to about the same as the swimming pool, therefore removing all benefits from the water, over half the therapeutic jets no longer work, and that’s if you can stand the temperature. What the gym management does not realise that there’s still a sign in the building calling it a hydro pool and not a vitality pool, then the aqua aerobic classes are brilliant and they have many participants, though if you wish to use the steam room etc during this time be aware that you have to navigate around the whole pool not ideal for less mobile persons , to reach the rooms !! Now this so called health club turns over close to a million pounds a year!!! Yet they are constantly trying to save money by turning the water temperatures down and not replacing gym equipment that’s broken but insisting that a company is coming in to repair it!! I’m tied to a 12 month membership unfortunately but I can honestly say that from the day Nuffield took over this gym it has been in decline. The place is a shambles and a disaster with a serious accident waiting to happen.. so please don’t join !! Definitely not worth £50 month

Shambles of a gym the monthly fees doesn’t meet the standards so much equipment is broken and incompetent managers. I feel sorry for the reception staff that have to deal with constant complaints whilst the managers hide upstairs and the deputy managers on shift have no idea how to deal with complaints. Lovely young blonde lady on the reception Thursday evening though who really tried to emphasise and overcome my frustrations she is a credit to you -whist the other lady didn’t want to know whom I think was in charge her resolution was ‘send an email ‘ not really the standard you expect to receive and Managment is never to be seen.nWhat a shame Jackie isn’t still around she lead this gym brilliantly!!

Will not even let you have a day pass to try the facility’s want you to secure in to a 12 Month contract what is over £400 I won’t be returning or the 7 other people what come with me
