Nottingham is a city with a real feel good factor. The square is nice as feels like your in an European city. Every shop you name you will find here in Nottingham including Vivenen Westword. Plenty of places to eat out spoilt for choice. Trams are here too which reminded me of Holland. Lots of history here too. Would highly recommend for a city break.
Pleasant walking around the centre, especially Hockley. Lots of small independent businesses. Places to visit -- coffee -- - Coco Tang - Effy - Kigali - Økende - The Specialty Coffee Shop -- to eat -- - Coco Tang - Paste - The Ugly Bread Bakery -- chocolate -- - Luisa's bean-to-bar craft chocolate - craft beer - Neon Raptor Avoid like the plague Nottingham Christmas Market, tat and junk food. The only quality stall 2023 Lincolnshire Poacher cheese. Rental e-scooters and e-cycles dumped anywhere and everywhere in the streets are a nuisance. The serfs working for apps riding through pedestrianised streets are a major hazard, an accident waiting to happen.
I was nervous about getting on a train for the first time on my own, and a gentleman that works at the Nottingham station was very kind indeed. He helped me to the correct platform, helped calm me down, and even came back to check on me once I'd got on the train. This helped fill me with confidence for my trip, and I can't tell you how grateful I am. Ty to that guy whoever you are, and ty Nottingham station staff, you guys are great!
I’m writing this as I’m sitting waiting for my train in the smallest waiting room I’ve ever seen in a train station. It has got only ONE main to plug my phone charger! Other plugs on the wall are USB and the world is moving to USB-C. This is the only available waiting room for all platforms!! All the coffee shops are out of the platform area and their seating is in outside the small kiosks they have! This station has got very little compared to what it should be offering as a central station in a big city!!
This was a fabulous station to both arrive and depart at, having well-sized platforms for the trains. The stylization is very nice and there are many platforms, though finding your way around is easy due to the signs. A beautiful glass roof is enforced heavily and there are departure boards to make sure nobody misses any train, also the station had cleanliness maintained when I visited!
Staff are amazing and always helpful. East Midlands Trains first class lounge is small and very basic but has air conditioning so always nice and cool in the hot weather Staff in the lounge are always friendly and helpful just a shame the whole first class product from EMT has gone down hill a lot!
From here there's EMR and CrossCountry services as well as other services. Trams from here go to Toton park, The centre, Phoenix park, South Clifton, and Hucknall.
Nice, clean and tidy Station. Announcements and departure boards are clear and staff are kind and helpful. Costa coffee, Gourmet Kitchen Bar and Upper Crust Cafe's outside. One downside they need to get all the clocks outside telling the correct time
Nottingham has so much to offer in terms of eating out, night life, theatres, activities for the day time, and even has a cat cafe....
A very short walk to the city square. Platforms are wide and have benches. There's a small cafe on Platform 3.
