Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form

The place is simply horrendous: 1. Far too many of the staff simply don't care: lessons are a mess, with little to no organisation and students talking and mucking about on their phones and the like right in front of them, and they'll do nothing. Too many times I've seen violent fights, sometimes involving very large groups of students, occur right in front of the eyes of staff who are being paid to prevent this sort of thing, and they will do nothing, just let it happen. It's worse than a prison: at least prison wardens will attempt to stop that sort of thing. 2: The staff employed to deal with bullying are useless: these staff are included in those who simply watch on as huge fights (which often end in students coming out of it covered in blood, might I add) occur in front of them. They also deal with reports of bullying very poorly, I won't go into detail about this as it involves personal things, but believe me, it's awful. 3. Students are horrific: There is constant screaming, people you don't even know insulting you, or even shoving or kicking you in the corridors, people throwing things around left right and centre, litter absolutely everywhere, no respect for the few staff that do try and keep the place in order, and constant wandering about and doing anything but work in lessons (and I won't go into detail into some of the things some of them do, as some of it truly disgusts me). 4. The building is not fit for purpose: it was defiantly not designed for over 1,500 students, as teachers will freely admit, but do little to sort out. Corridors are often very cramped, with a lot of shoving thanks to the undisciplined students, and the way out of school being a particularly unpleasant journey. The canteen is nowhere near big enough for everyone, there are simply not enough places for everyone to eat, and if you do get somewhere you're often harassed by people you don't even know and are surrounded by litter, despite the fact there's a bin five feet from you. But they do decide to spend loads on new windows and flooring that we don't need. 5. The worst rules are the ones enforced the most: like I say, staff far too often don't care about blatant physical violence towards students, but will fight to the death over the most ridiculous rules like not being allowed to the toilet during lessons, break or lunch (only in the five minute transition periods between lessons and the first and last five minutes of break and lunch, defiantly not sufficient time for the whole school to go to the toilet, especially since many of the facilities are always locked), not being allowed to go through the science corridor at break or lunch, despite it being the quickest route from the science toilets (some of the few toilets always open) to the canteen, along with the fact that we're not allowed in the building at break or lunch, so why do they want us to take the longer route? We also can't go straight through the doors to the picnic area (also too small and very poor conditions, but more room than the canteen), and instead having to go through the canteen and out the canteen's doors to the picnic area, we aren't allowed back into the canteen after you go out of it at break, and aren't allowed to stand outside the maths corridor, despite it being one of the few quiet areas on the school premises. I have no idea why those last three rules were even considered, as they simply seem ridiculous and pointless to me. These points heavily influence everyday school life (I've left out some of the worst points), and I find it horrible, those who praise it are likely just happy that they can just muck about and do nothing all the time rather than work.

The school has gone down hill the past 8 years. Some of The teachers have no enthusiasm or care about the students.some Staff are very rude and careless. behavior in school is horrific. Also the school is a mess! There are chicken bones scattered all over the floor even inside in the hallways. Sandwages and sausages squished on the floor and bottles everywhere. It's like a zoo. Yesterday I went up the humanities stairs and there was a crisp packet on a step that was easily going to make someone end up in hospital with broken bones! There are unnecessary rules that are inconstant and unfair on us students. There is a min 10 minute wait to go to the toilet that gives you a couple minutes to get to the canteen and eat something quickly. Overall the school is a mess.

The teachers should be refreshed. Some of the teachers are reaching their expiration date. [CENSORED] In opinion, is the worst teacher and I have her 😔. People always push you in the corridoors. The food is terrible too, and omce the canteen served me raw chicken which secreted an unknown liquid. I think it is a risk to health, no wonder why the children don't focus. Also there is a teacher who sweats and I copare him to an iceberg. I am scared that he will drip on me. In fact, I am so svared hat he will flood the school with his sweat.

Extremely injust. I pushed over a chair and received THREE inclusion lunchtime detentions, when Daniel Steele breaks someone's arm and received TWO. Also, NEVER eat the Hash Browns. I ate 1 a day for a week, and threw up 2 inches full of puke in my bath. Yay.

The School’s got good teachers but the Food’s awful and the building’s outdated. Smells vaguely of Mayonnaise.
